    Hey Guys,

I've got an X-Pole titanium grip, and am finding that its always feeling slippery/greasy when | start to practise combo moves. My hands do sweat – which is horrible, but the pole just doesnt feel safe – I feel it most high up and low down on the areas I dont use as much. Its bad when I want to practice caterpiller or cartwheel/handspring.

I clean in with spray, wipe it with a microfibre cloth and sometimes put itac2 on the pole, but it goes cold and greasy. I always have my heating off when i practise.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Wondering if its my sweaty hands or this type of x-pole??

You are not alone. I’ve had my xpole for almost 4 months and it is still slippy. I’ve tried spritz, shaving cream, dry hands, muellers spray, and I just bought mighty grip gloves and ankle protecters. They all work but only for about 10 minutes. I don’t know about the gloves yet because I just bought them. Good luck on finding what works for you.

This is only my personal opinion… I find XPoles to be more slick than other poles I have used. It could be how my body chemistry reacts to it. The silver lining is I tell myself… If I can dance on an X… I can dance on anything! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I use rubbing alcohol and a micro fiber cloth to clean my X pole. I wash my pole microfiber cloths without fabric softener and hang dry them. I put my lotion on at least 6 hours before pole. I make sure my pole is warm by doing lots of spins/climbs before doing anything inverted. I make sure I am really warm or else I will slide right off.

Wishing you the best successes finding what works best for you!

Just weighing in to say I’m also a slippery x-pole person…I love my xpole but it just isn’t the best grip surface for me. My preference is high polish stainless steel, which is a little unusual, but I do have really sweaty skin and if I’m on a nice warm, well-seasoned stainless pole, I absolutely stick like glue.

I used to obsess over the slipperyness factor, and it does get frustrating, but I love x poles so I just try to adapt and work around it as best as I can. I try to moderate temperate in my space and keep good air flow, I soap-and-water wash myself off with a rag at intervals if I need to, or I take short 2-5min breaks to stretch and cool down just enough to get the sweat under control but keep my skin and muscles warm and then go back to it. Anyway, you’re not alone! The chrome just isn’t ideal for some of us.
