I use Prince Grip plus you can buy it at any sporting goods store (I get it at Dicks) its in the tennis department it works great! I want to try the ITac2 I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about it so I may be ordering that soon!

i have mighty grip & iTac2. the might grip doesn’t work wonders for me. it helps for a few minutes but then i need to reapply it & i have found that it is hard to clean off of my pole & leaves little "chunks" that i have to scratch off with my nails https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif i just got a sample of the iTac2 & i LOVE it!!! i will be buying more for sure! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif i used it on spinny for like 45 minutes & i did not have to reapply! i had to clean my pole 2x to get it all off BUT it was still quicker than scratching the chunks off when i used the mighty grip! 99% of the time i don’t get sweaty hands & i have heard that if you do have sweaty hands the iTac2 just makes a mess.

**** the iTac2 is a waxy kind of texture, probably better for dry hands (like mine) & the mighty grip is a powder texture so i bet it would work for people who have sweaty hands better than it did for me.

I have very sweaty hands and Mighty Grip didn’t do anything. It just disintegrates after like 2 spins and leaves a mess on the pole. I’m using liquid chalk now (Beal Pure Grip) and it works well, it makes my hands sticky like Spiderman https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I think if you have sweaty hands I’d use liquid chalk – mind you, it’s awful for dry hands as the sweat on your hands turns the chalk into a tacky film. If you have dry hands Mighty Grip might work, or one of the wax-based grip aids.

Has anyone with sweaty hands used iTac2 by the way?

I have used Mighty Grip powder, iTac2, natural rock rosin (have to crush it), white refined rosin, Dry Hands and Mighty Grip gloves. I go through phases with them all. I only use grip when the pole is still cold or my hands are sweating too much to work through and I’m doing inverts and holds with split grip or some other move I tend not to be able to catch if my hands slip. I’m favoring the Mighty Grip powder and the rock rosin at the moment. MG powder because it’s clean and easy, and rosin because it’s free-for-all in a big tub/tray in all my classes. iTac2 rips the skin on my legs and torso when it gets left on the pole and when I’m having a sweaty day it just goes everywhere. I’ve used it for learning TG handspring at home and that’s about it. Other girls I know swear by it though. Gloves keep ripping for me, so they’re out of the picture. I lost my white rosin bag for a few weeks but I’ve found it again! It’s not as ‘sticky’ as the yellow rosin we use in classes, but I can’t find anywhere to buy that to use at home. I lost my Dry Hands bottle, I tried it when I was a super sweaty death grip beginner and I found I just sweat right over the top of it. Should try it again now? As I said, I go through phases. My best grip tip thus far is to just use a brass pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif I really really really want one.

Different products work differently on everyone…it depends on your body chemistry. Also your chemistry can change. Sometimes you just need to try different things.

Personally many of my students like Grrrip…the lotion is slightly stronger.

THere are many products and we’ve experimented with a few in class with students. This may be helpful:

I just got itac2 in the mail and am VERRRY dissapointed. Followed the instructions, jumped up to do a pole sit and it felt like i had applied baby oil to my hands instead…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif maybe it’s because my hands are of the more sweaty variety but i did not think it would be THAT bad. yeah so if you get sweaty easily i wouldn’t try this…i wasn’t even sweaty though when i tried this stuff. GRRR, waste of 15 bucks… :.[

Empy is 100% correct. We are all different and some things may work for one and dont work well for another. You could even find one that works for you at one time of themonth and another for a different time of the month. Or you could be like me and need different types of grip aide for different parts of your body. I use dryhands on my hands (I don’t have sweaty hands) for inverted split grips but when my body gets so sweaty I slide right out of a Gemini I dust my torso with mighty grip and it helps. You’re probably going to come out best by trying different stuff out and seeing what works for you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

awww! i got a free sample of itac2 from the web…
    it didnt work for me
nor did mighty grip https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif !!
either , 1: i have hopelessly sweaty hands
    or
2: i’m nervous getting up on the pole, which causes the sweating, which means as my comfort level increases, the perspiration will subside.

i did get mighty grip gloves and I LOVE THEM!

you can donate the grip aids you dont like to local pole studios for other students to try out…

That’s a good idea! buttttt i don’t think their are any studios around me… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif but yeah maybe the sweat chemistry in our hands are just too much. the itac2 makes me more slippery…like dangerously slippery!
