I really wouldn’t try hair spray it won’t prevent sweat and it will make your pole all gross! I would try dry hands and if you don’t like it just send it back.

Rosin bag, from local sporting equipment store works wonders and its cheap

I have sweaty hands and I love dry hands. I might have to reapply it after 30 minutes of poling. I wash my hands really well then apply it. you only need a few drops on your hands. but today, I bought a pair of mighty grip gloves because I just didn’t feel like reapplying anything. they were great, I don’t think I would use them for everything but I really liked them and felt so secure in my grip. I got the ones with tack on them, you can not do spins with them however. I tried tite grip once and it was not for me. it just felt weird and sticky and mixed with my sweat it was not good. I recently ordered dirty girl poletice and am waiting for it to get here to try it. so, those are my reviews on the things I have tried.haha! I would say dry hands has been my go -to product but now that I have the gloves I will see if that changes.

I use dry hands and i-tac regular strength. I like dry hands better then itac but sometimes it’s a hit or miss if it works for me. I-tac sometimes makes me more slippy. I also have the gloves and use them sometimes for practicing pole holds or strength training but not for dancing. Just thought I would mention my experience.

I tried hairspray w no luck…..Cramers firm hold spray is the BEST!

Here’s a link to a sample pack of grip aids that I purchased because, like you, I didn’t want to spend a fortune to find out which ones worked for me.

I’m pretty new to poling but so far I prefer Itac2 and Mighty Grip. I have a stainless steel Lil Mynx pole that VERY slippery especially now in the winter. I use Itac on my legs and just a bit of Mighty Grip on my hands. I do not have sweaty hands so I can’t recommend anything for that.

That’s super awesome. Wish I had known about that a while ago…

For my sweaty hands I absolutely love Dirty Girl Poltice. My hands tend to be super sweaty especially when I work on spin mode. Before using Dirty Girl I was never able to make it thought a whole song without having to come down and wipe my pole and my hands. This stuff was like magic for me.

Autumn sky thanks for posting about that grip aid im dying to try it and was not sure about it is it better than I tac ? Because I really don’t like itac it didn’t work for me at all.

@Skullpixie, I have never used itac so I can’t compare, but I do believe the Dirty Girl works differently . You put it on, let it dry( about a few minutes) then actually rinse it off! It keeps my hands dry for hours. On a humid day I may still have to add some dry hands occasionally, but nothing like without it.

Ah I see that is different I must give it a go sounds like it might help my grip. Thanks.

My ears were burning, lolDGP is nothing like itac. Itac is not for sweat in my experience. I found that if you sweat under it, it’s makes you more slippery (at least it did for me). Itac is more for grip as it’s a wax.
DGP is not a “grip aid” per se. It works by going into your pores/glands and drying the sweat as it develops. So it doesn’t stop the sweat by blocking like all other “antiperspirants”. It’s a totally different mechanism than those that use aluminum.
Also, as far as I’ve found, we are the only 100% naturally organic product on the market. It is not only safe, but it’s good for your skin (try it as a face mask!).
If you have any questions let me know!

lol I have decided to order myself some DGP to try it it sounds like my kinda grip. Even more awesome that it’s not a wax and it’s natural.
