I've had the strangest hand pain, it's at the first knuckle close to my fingertips. For days after pole work, I usually have hurt knuckles on the outside (not palm side) of my hand. The palm side of my hand hurts too, but not as bad as the outside. I stretch my fingers and hands/wrists before and after pole work, sometimes I wake up in the am and my hands are achy, stiff and cramped, especially at the first knuckle. Anyone know about this? Any ideas how to not hurt?

It sounds like you might be over gripping. My knuckles would ache when I first started aerial silks because I had the death grip. Try working on hand strength exercises, stretch your hands before and after polimg, and really focus on not squeezing so hard. Once your hand grip is stronger, you naturally hold on less since you do not need to death grip to hang on. It also allows for prettier spins.
