hi from pennsylvania!
Hey guys! My name is Julie and I’m frm a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. I am COMPLETELY new to pole dancing. I came across a video on Youtube with no prior knowledge of the sport and I thought it was so beautiful and graceful. I emailed the girl who made the video and she told me she had only been pole dancing for a year and a half…so it made me think there is hope for me! Since then I think I may have watched just about every pole dancing video in existence on the internet… haha. There is a studio near here that offers classes and I just emailed them to give me some more information and get a schedule. I don’t have a pole in my home but hopefully if things pan out some day soon I will! Well thank you to all of you who do this awesome sport! I am truly blown away!!

PS – I am not in the very best physical shape. I could probably stand to lose 20-30 pounds or so. I hope this won’t get in my way!!!

Don’t worry at all about your weight. Pole dancers come in all shapes and sizes. I was worried I was too small to be able to look good poling but I was wrong. There are all sorts of dancers here!

Welcome!! I’m originally from New Brighton! there is another user on here, Jeng who is from the same area. Which studio are you talking about? Oh My Your Gorgeous? There is also Spin on Fitness. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Shelley from Spin on Fitness and used her studio. I have yet to meet Stephanie from OMYG. Anywho! Welcome!

Hey guys, thanks for both of your replies! And yes the studio is Oh My You’re Gorgeous… I live about 20-30 min from there which isn’t a bad drive at all! Spin on Fitness would take a little over an hour. I would eventually like to check out both though! That’s cool you are from New Brighton – I just started a new job in Aliquippa actually! Hey there and welcome! I live in Cranberry township If you get a chance to go by spin on fitness its a really great group of girls there even though it takes longer to get to. I personally don’t recommend OMYG because the owner won’t allow me in her studio and even prevented me from coming to a workshop with Karol Helms recently for which I have no idea why.
This is a great forum where we all support each other and you can get alot of great advice.
