i was just wondering if there's a general consensus, rule of thumb, or training guideline to follow when it comes to learning new moves. about a month ago, when practicing things like twisted grip lifts, split grip handsprings, brass monkey lifts, etc, i was aiming to get in 10 reps for each move before moving on. i haven't mastered all of those moves yet, but am trying to add in new tricks to practice so i've cut back to 5 reps for each move before moving on so i can get through more tricks in the same amount of practice time. what do you all do? should i up it back up to 10x each move and just make my practices more structured so i work on a, b, and c moves in one practice session and then x, y, and z moves the next or is 5x sufficient? most of the moves i'm working on are strength moves that i'm still building up to (and have seen improvement) but i'm just torn between really focusing on a few moves but possibly getting bored w/what i'm currently training and keeping it fresh by throwing in some new stuff but maybe not making as much progress on everything.

I like this question/discussion. I am currently practing, Superman (working on not getting stuck on the pole) jade splits, Ayesha, cup grip invert, and twisted grip handspring. I float between practincing these moves.  I find that I can go about 5 reps and then I have to be carefult that I am not getting too tired out where my muscles start to feel a little shaky or "noodle syndrome."  My mind wants to keep going, but my body sometimes gets seriously tired after 5 reps. Sometimes I combine the moves into a mini routine and other times, just do the same move over and over.  Interesting thought about reps.
