So I got my first pole on friday. And was having a little play around. I used to be a gymnast so naturally little elegant and flexible, well I ended up a heep on the floor,I literally looked like I was shot mid spin and fll to the floor. Meanwhile my husband just jumps on and looks like a pro. Its about a elegant and flexiable as a elephant. I cant for the life of me hold my body weight of the floor, yet my husband could. Now I feel really disheartened like maybe it’s not for me. What can I do to build mu arms and upper body strength??

Naturally a man has more upper body strength and a woman has the lower body (thus our thighs that never seem to get smaller…) So don’t let that eat you. However, I hate it when the hubs one ups me! Try gripping the pole and lifting yourself off the ground without pushing up with your feet. drop your shoulders so you don’t strain your neck. pull up slowly. It’s okay if you can only get to the balls of your feet at first. Do it 5 times each day and before you know it you’ll be lifting off your feet. I also like climbing up the pole then taking my body and hanging next to the pole with a side hold. Do that on both sides. You’ll be surprised how quickly you get stronger 🙂
