re: botox injections. i've had it done, and it's awful. i started doing the injections when i was doing a lot of aerial silk– it was too scary to have sweaty hands 30 feet up!

there's about 40 injections per hand, and no topical anesthesia is effective at blocking the pain of the injections. once it's done, it made my hands perfectly sweat free after about 2 weeks. however, for me it only lasted ~3 months at the most, and the last time i had it done, i found my fingers were tingling and my hands would occassionally itch…. it freaked me out too much and i'm not having it done again.

if your insurance doesn't cover it, i think the cost in NYC is approx $2K.

I've now started experiencing some serious sweaty hands, and it's really, really frustrating…esp. because I'm working on the basic inversion now, and I've only managed it twice. I know I have the strength for it, but the damp palms are stopping me…and this only started happening a couple of weeks ago. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

All levels of iTac2 and the Mighty Grip are now failing, as are my weightlifting gloves.. I tried nitrile gloves, which gripped WONDERFULLY, but they look goofy, don't fit well and break after a few minutes. So, I've ordered Tite Grip today to try. My Dad also said he had Palmar Hyperhidrosis, but it went away, so I'm hoping I'm toting his gene there. He said to try sage tea, decrease iodine intake and to clutch a wet tea bags for about 10 minutes because the tannins act as an astringent. All worth a shot, since I haven't the money or brass ovaries to endure surgery or botox.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Oh, and just 3 months in, and my titanium gold finish (xpert) is starting to wear off of my pole on the part where my top hand goes, so I'm not thrilled at all. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

Before you try Botox try Drysol. It is an anti-perspirant that you apply twice a week at bedtime. I don’t have sweaty palms but I do have really sweaty armpits (I sweat through everything) I was considering Botox when I found Drysol in the supermarket. I tried it and it literally changed my life. I can wear anything now without having to worry about pit stains. You can use it on your hands and feet, but you have to keep them covered while you sleep. It’s 20$ here in Canada and definitely worth a try.

P.S. Try applying Tite-Grip on top of iTac, it keeps the iTac from getting slippery.
