How do I keep spinning when I am at the top of the pole? I stop moving altogether….

I love playing with momentum, sticking legs out, halfway out, tucking in, getting tall like a pencil on the pole. It really helped me get a sense of how to work momentum in my favor.

Ah, great that you posted that vid. Now I understand everything much better :). I had no idea that you were using a stage so I didn't get why the spin would be different at the top compared to the bottom haha.

I've never tried a stage so I don't know what problems they may have but I think it's like Veena said, the wobble causes a slowdown. I don't know how to work around it other than giving it more momentum from the start. Possibly you will learn with time how to work on that pole without causing that much wobble as well.

hey! i have the same platinum stages stage pole you have.  i also own an xpole that is not a stage.  AND i have also danced on an x-stage pole and the platinum stages poles that fit to ceiling.  So, comparing all of the above, I'd have to say that spin does not last so long on the platinum stages pole.  it lasts longer on the x-stage, and the longest with the regular xpoles or platinum stages poles that attach to ceilings.  I feel as though the weight of a dancer pushed down on the p.s. pole.  There is no ball bearing mechanism for the pole to spin with, so i believe gravity plays a role in cancelling out the spin in the platinum stages stage poles.

you can still manifest a spin- you'll figure it out with practice.  if most (as much as possible) of your body weight pulls to one side of the pole, you will generate a spin.  i find it happens with extended butterflies

Thanks! It spins well at the bottom…I get kinda dizzy but not too bad. One move i was doing…I couldnt stop it and had to yell "help" for my daughter to stop it lol!

Becuz of my dizzy problem ( Ive had vertigo several times) I wanted a slower but smooth spin. I just wanted it to keep going! Donnalee has the same pole and she goes round and  round and round at the top! Must be something Im doing…

It will just take practice. As your movements become more controlled you won’t create as much wobble on the pole and there for spin longer and smoother. Stage poles are fussy that way.
