Hi again! I am naturally skinny but pole dance makes me skinnier and I don’t like it.. Maybe a protein supplement would help? Thanks!

Congratulations, you can now consume more candy and crisps!
But it would be healthier to go for real food. Protein is not bad since you’re building muscles, but carbohydrates will make you fatter which is maybe what you’re after. Eat a bit of both.

haha! I already eat a lot of sugar (because I’m addicted for years and I can’t quit it).
Ι’m totally meat-eater! Also I consume a lot of bread, spaghetti etc. I don’t eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, eggs and dairy foods…

Well it seems that you are doing the right foods 🙂 Bread can make anyone gain weight, at least the white variant. Maybe you could serve your meat with some creamy fatty yummy sauces.

More muscles will make you increase in voluma as well, in a very nice-looking way on top of all.

    Avoid Amphetamine 😉

Sounds like you have an ectomorph body type! I do to, and I need to be sure to eat well when I start dancing a lot or I loose too much weight, mostly when I do heavy days of cardio. Sooo, lots of dancing will cause me to loose weight fast, where as lifting weights doesn’t so much.

I make sure that I always eat a high protein, high carb shake after working out. Then I need to make sure I get my snacks in between meals too, but they need to be healthy not just chips or brownies (which I love so much!).

Try adding some weight training into your workouts, and just focus on making sure you don’t skip meals or eat junk food to try and boost calorie intake. Eat good food!

thank you so much Veena! Yes my bodytype is exactly like yours and I don’t want to eat junk food or crisps to gain wheight. Also I try hard to quit sugar. Most people think that my question is foolish but isn’t…

I don’t think it was foolish at all ! I can totally relate i got thinner then ever when i was poling. But i wasn’t eating enough and had a heavy espresso habit. I like to eat as clean as possible so it makes variety difficult. But eating organic and gmo free as much as possible has helped me feel a ton better. I need tons of carbs because my metabolism is super quick and a good amount if iron because Im borderline anemic. Listen to your body and i believe it will lead in you the right direction. Best of luck !

i’m sorry if my comment came over a bit flippant there! i didn’t intend it to =/ it just made me chuckle as i am struggling with the opposite problem at the moment hehe my arms and shoulders are bulking up loads and im really noticing the negative effects on my flex and ROM for pole now!! i appreciate it is really difficult for naturally skinny girls to bulk up and i bet you wish it was as easy as just eating more or whatever… but yes protein i think is a big thing, especially if you are working out, it will provide your muscles with the fuel to repair themselves and build and get stronger, also find it gives me a bit more stamina as well so i dont feel as weak and wobbly after working out a lot, so maybe a protein supplement could be good (and i think if you have too much protein when you are not exercising it can make you put on weight…?) but yes carbs too sounds good if you have a fast metabolism. And then a bit more conditioning hehe. =P as veena says specifically weights/body weights as opposed to cardio i think is a good idea, cardio burns more fat etc but weights should help get you more solid, so even if you are still very slim you will be all lean and super strong like veena =) xox

thank you shoogstandley! 🙂 It’s so annoying that everyone keep telling me “eat something” when I eat more than them! Polekat dodn’t worry, I understand that everyone thinks that all skinny girls love their appearance but this is not true. Thank you!

Yes, my whole life everyone has thought it’s as simple as just eating more. But it’s not, and it can be just as concerning and frustrating trying to keep weight on as trying to loose weight. Carbs are good and necessary but you’ll have more energy if you eat a well rounded diet. I grew up eating sugar and more sugar and I was unhealthy and super skinny. Once I started eating less sugar and a well rounded diet it’s easier to keep my weight up.

I’m like you polecat! It’s super easy for my body to build muscle….however my metabolism is super sluggish and it takes me forever to just burn off 1 pound of fat! But I love my muscles and wouldn’t trade them for anything 🙂

wloren I can totally relate to what you are saying. I’m 5’2″ (1.58m) and for most of my adult life I weighed around 100 pounds (45 kg). I was super skinny and I didn’t like it. I ate a lot, seriously a lot and that didn’t do the trick. My friends told me all the time that I should stop complaining about not gaining weight because every one wants to look skinny. That made me angry because I didn’t like the way I looked. I thought I looked like I had an eating disorder or something. Anyway, when I started to pole initially I lost weight and I just thought “oh no, not again”, but I started to do more strength training and within a couple of months I regained the weight that I had lost and I’m actually heavier now (110 pounds/50 kg). The funniest part is that I actually lost 3% of body fat since march, so all the weight is muscle !!! I love the way my body looks now because before I thought I looked sickly skinny and now I still look slim but if you ask me to describe my body type I would say it’s athletic. I love it 😀

Anyway, my advice would be to do more strength training and increase the protein in your diet. Finally, be patient, there are some girls that bulk up in no time. It might take you several months but you’ll eventually see the results and we’ll be here to support you the whole time 😀
