My friend is an amateur photographer and we're doing a pole "photo shoot" at my house tomorrow (late notice but I didn't even think to post to SV about it until now), and I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for helping it run smoothly.  Of course I do have some specific moves I'd like to do, but as far as anything else goes, should I just dance a little and let her take pictures of it, should I try to pose if I'm not doing an actual pole move, and how much instruction should I try to give her?  We're not extremely close and I don't want to sound bossy or controlling or anything, especially because she is pretty talented.  For those of you who have done pole photo shoots, what was it like, and how did you know what to do?  Anything else you learned or would like to share?

I hope it is okay to post this… it is one of Aerial Amy's blogs on photo shoot tips. I found it very helpful.

Best of luck on your shoot!

Thanks for posting that Jehanne, I’m glad the entry helped! I’ve added another, more recent entry with some additional tips here:

That's perfect, thanks!  I had seen your latest pictures Amy (love them!) but somehow totally missed that first entry.  Can't wait for tomorrow – wish me luck! 🙂
