She calls that Bad Idea in 7" heels #4. I know she did it during her Midwest performance and I think I saw another video prior to that. It reminds me of Dia's elbow to split grip ayesha move.
-
let me pick my jaw up off the floor. omg. love her name for the move.
-
love the name, too! now i´m wondering whether it would be a bad idea to try that move, too xD
@leahrose: let me know how you were doing!
-
I’ve been meaning to try this! I’ve walked my hands down the pole in a shouldermount and it seems similar.
-
I worked on this a couple of times last week. I haven't been ballsy enough to try without my legs on the pole because I wanted to tes just how the move felt – it felt okay…a little scary to me. I'm hoping to work on being able to switch my grip with my legs in straddle the way she does.
-
Cool!! I wasn't expecting such a good view of the trick when that video started, lol!
It looks like the opposite of something Natasha Wang does. She starts from the down splits, moves into the position that Alethea ends in (with the foot trapped) and then switches her hand into a shoulder mount to free the leg. I got shivers all over the first time I saw it! You can see it at 0:43 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2WguirjwYE. Both ways are awesome!
-
hm, that's funny- the natasha move, she's taught that (and so has jenyne) as an elbow grip with the bottom arm (it's a little more of a drop that way), i've never noticed that variation with the bottom arm cupped. i'm going to have to try that, thanks lil blondie!
(natasha also "untraps" the foot after coming down in the SM by doing the opposite of what alethea is doing)
-
^ haha yes amy that's exactly what I meant … that move with natasha "untrapping" her foot is the opposite of what Alethea does!
-
wow! i cant wait to try that, bad idea or not 😉 tks for posting
-
@lilblondie: woooow, that looke so awsome. incredible how slow she does this trick. i would love to try that but i once tried to do the trick before (0:42-0:46) and clamped my arm – it was really difficult to get out of the tricks because i was knotted around my pole xD
maybe i should give it a second try, it looks so beautiful
-
WOW! It is amazing to see both ways of that trick. Although I think, Alethea's way looksmore dangerous and impressing. Perhaps it is just the way she does it, so fast!! Thanks girls for sharing that!

I was able to do one to two movements of my legs until early pregnancy(am now 7 mo prego:)) but never thought to do the move for longer. I can't wait to get my belly back with trying for that! I love core moves:)
I can't wait to do a class with her. She is my fave right now.
-
i never thought of doing it from another trick kittynyannyan!
trying it from a hip hold might be good to get a feeling for this trick before you get into it from a shouldermount
-
tried both variations (the trap and untrap) tonight, wasn't so bad! i haven't got the balls to do them on spin pole yet but i've posted vids of my freestyles where i did them =) if you wanna check em out:
the trap is right at the beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUsBM6lj1Fw
this one is the shoulder dismount that natasha does, but i didn't untrap, i rolled over it into a sit, at 1:11. the rollover into sit was unplanned, but i like the transition! gotta clean it up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic3UathS2-c
thanks for the idea to try that trick guys, it was a lot of fun!
