Sorry not sure what happened with my first post.
anyways I been watching to take up pole for about a year but just never got round to it. Then last week I went to watch a pole comp where a friend of a friend was competing. I was blown away and ive taken the plung.
I will be starting lessons at a stuido soon but as a incentive to stick to it ice got myself a pole for at home.
    I got the x pole 50mm chrome.
but what else do I need? At the show there was all tgese lotions and position, they cleaned the poles with something there mighty grip gloves etc its all a little overwelming.
so I have my pole, what else do I need?

I've been doing this only for a few months (I see you are in the UK?) and the bits I couldnt live without were Dry Hands solution (to help you grip and not slip) , my wee pole shorts and towel.

Soon added electrical tape (to tape up the burns – ouch) and Nelsons Arnica cream/gel from Boots.(for the bruises) Those are the basics I'm never without.

I clean my pole now and again when needed with rubbing alcohol (surgical spirit (boots) )

Pole Dance Heaven has been my fav retailer, I have basically bought everything from them.

I have never used gloves or protectors until now, and these were only because I have ripped skin off my hands and feet and its just…. evil to touch the pole with them just now. I try not to use them at all though, they seem more a hinderance. In reality you should get used to the sore bits in time, I guess protectors full time would hinder that?

Couch cushions are great makeshift crash mats.

The lessons here will help you so much a crash mat and shorts that allow for plenty of contact with the pole. 🙂
