Hello everyone! I feel so devastated and need your input please! I decided to do nipple piercing and so I did couple of hours ago . I didnt actually get a good look at my new image till I went back home.. I’m actually surprised that the piercing looks done around the aerola itself..like from the sides of the nipples..rather than the nipple itself as flesh… looking at myself, I’m seeing a wrinkled crinkled aerola …its like the flesh of the aerola got involved into the piercing and this means I dont see a full circle of aerola. ..I see ugly look!! 🙁 🙁 .. I called my piercer and explained this..I was told that nipple piercing occurs behind the nipple at tge aerola not the nipple itself and give it a week or two to look normal … is that true?? I mean anyone who experuenced nipple piercing, is this the way its done??? Please help me .. if my aerola ends up not in its cicrle shape I’m definitely taking them out the soonest…:( I dont want to think like so though cause I dont want to end up with a scar even if as they say its unnoticeable 🙁

I have seen people with nipple piercings and they were always through the nipple, hopefully this is a way they do it now cause things do change through the years.. If it’s not suppose to be that way then yes take it out, I’m sure the other veeners will be more of a help

From the piercings I’ve seen, it is generally done like that- not directly straight through the nipple, but around behind it, mostly through the areola. Considering the fact that most people don’t have enough actual nipple to safely hold a piercing in place, I’m surprised that this would be expected.
Also, it is true that you only just got a piercing HOURS ago, instead of days or months- this piercing has not settled or healed/ If you ever look at an ear piercing, you’ll find that it’s swollen, and often, may look like it’s in the wrong place because of this. Ear piercings, however, stop being swollen and often heal (as long as they are well-taken-care of, and are not cartilage piercings) very quickly. About a month.
I’ve heard of nipple piercings taking months, up to and including 9 or 12 months to heal, depending on the person, the piercing, and how your body takes it.
I’ve also heard of them being rejected after 10 years of being in place.
The body is an interesting thing.

Unless your piercing is jarred or not cared for properly, it is unlikely to have scar tissue, and you can safely heal it till the piercing is able to be changed, and if you don’t like it by then, if you leave it alone, it’ll likely just close up on it’s own.

It’s also possible that the jewelry they used is longer than what one would normally use for a healed piercing. This is also normal, as it allows the piercing a chance to swell, and also to be cleaned easier, with minimal pulling or movement.

    Good luck in healing it!

Thank you Mystical and Runemist34 🙂 I couldnt sleep last night thinking of this, and I kept checking my email for any replies from Veeners here:) !! Yep! Soooooo anxious and frustrared! … Runemist34: well, I hope then that its a mattee of being swollen …so its a good comfort to know that yes its done at the base of the nipple… for me though the piercing is coming a bit away from the actual base of the nipple thats why it looks odd .. I think it would’ve been better if little more closer to the base…unless its a matter of being swollen and I should give it time. I was thinking to go to another piercer to show what I got and to know if they are pierced in the right base, distance wise… really thank you again

So so so… I ended up going to another piercer who confirmed that yes it should be done at the base of the nipple…but… whoever did it to me took some part of the aerola in the piercing ..thats why it looked odd cause wasnt done in the correct measurement . !!! It looked far away from the base of the nipple…I took it out so maybe I’ll repierce later … its annoying cause it was my first time to do such challenging exciting step and I went to one of the most famous places over here which was overpriced too compared to other places…I thought well… its the first time so hit it right and dont look around for cheap places …what a bad experience 🙁 and by the way they were not swollen at all so it wasnt a matter of healing..I kept looking at images here and there and mine felt really out of place..

Glad to hear you got a second opinion. Hopefully it won’t be too hard to heal up and try again! Sometimes it’s difficult to know for sure through text.

Be careful with removing your jewelry before it heals. From what I’ve read, if you remove it you don’t let pus and other waste drain properly and can lead to an infection.

I had a nipple piercing for about 4 years. It felt amazing, every guy loved it. I’m thinking about repiercing it because I removed it for an X-ray and waited too long to put it back. Heads up changin the jewelry, sometimes even removing it hurts like a b*tch. The piercing itself is done at the base of the nipple. I think all piercings look odd at first. To you it might not seem swollen, but it is.

I wish I could help you out more but my piercings went well.
