omni gym complete or fly gym
Posted by tigerlillies on January 29, 2014 at 8:22 pmOk so I rent but would love to get a fly gym but due to having to install iron my ceiling I can’t. So wanted to know if anyone has the omni gym complete and what they think of it? How is it different then fly gym? How is it the same? Nit sure I should spent 800 plus for the omni gym or just keep waiting until I can get the fly gym.

I have an omni gym. Personally, I like it. The hammock and handles are a bit different from the fly gym. The fly gym seems to have 3 slings, where the omni gym set has a swing, foot straps, and 2 sets of handles, different lengths. The complete set comes with a spring pullup bar/ hanger. It takes the pressure off the hangs. I like the omni gym rig, but keep in mind, it’s 7’11” tall and has a base of 8 feet. I got mine on sale, which they do periodically when they release new colors. I think I got it at almost 50% off.
If you can wait a bit longer, I think x pole might be releasing an A frame. If they do, see the pricing on it and maybe it can be a good option with the fly gym?

Ooooo… tell me more! Will I get flexy using this? Do I need all the straps and handles, or will just the swing work? How would I hang it?

If you get the whole swing/handles set, it’s kinda like having a yoga hammock and TRX in one.

I have the Omni, and I have it a bit taller than 7’11. I really love it. Main differences are that I think fly gym is a bit stretchier, but they DO sell a stretchy sling. The straps are more workouty than slingy. And the regular sling and foot things are padded, which I half like and half don’t. They are comfortable, but a little bulky. I love having the ladder attachments for the frame. They either have or are coming out with a tailgate frame, and a pole attachment for the frame. There are also talks of a cover tarp tent thingy so you can go yoga in the outside and stay dry and stuff. Its so versatile. And you can always take the straps off and change up the way you hang the sling if you don’t want them there. I would very much like to save up for the stretchy sling from them. I like the moves poster and the videos and things on Youtube and Facebook to show you ways to use it you never thought of. 🙂

i am SO interesting in the omni yoga swing, but I can’t find any information about it. I just want the sling.. how would I hang it, how high to my ceilings need to be? Do I have to buy a mount?

Thanks for all the feedback now I’m wanting both lol but that might just be wasteful money wise. I do like that the omni has the stand and so versital so I will probably look that way. With kids when I get extra money and don’t have anything they need to get I usually try and get myself something which is rare lol. With my luck though after I get something then fly gym will come out with a stand.

I was very close to getting the omni stand and the fly gym, but it wasn’t worth the added cost. As for the thing itself, you can buy just the sling and some nylon straps and eyebolt it to a ceiling. The trapeze thingy if you wanted it adds about a foot and a half I think, and with 8 ft ceilings, it was perfect for me at 5 5, 160lbs. Another 5’5 person that weighed 200 lbs touched the ground just barely. Anyone tall had to modify and couldn’t just suspend unless you take the trapeze off. They’re good about answering questions. Just browse through swing models, accessories, and youtube them, and all the info you need is out there, even quick setup instructions for the frame.

Ok so I’m 5″11 weight (under construction) lol so which would’ve better for my height? Also hoping not to have to use big bolts in the ceiling since I rent and well they are A holes about alot can’t even put up a chin up bar in door frame A. Scared will break door frame B they would flip if a happened. And trust me I have been looking for new places but nothing in my price range big enough so saving up to move back up north.

I would say at least 3 ft of ground clearance if you can. If ur not using springs weight doesn’t come into play. Most rentals I know have cheap doors that would break with the door straps they sell. But if you have standard 8 ft ceilings 7 11 is as tall a stand as u can fit. You could always find a strong tree or suspend from playground equipment.
