peeps with brass ans stainless x pert
Posted by Dancing Paws on July 14, 2011 at 3:49 pmDoes anyone have the brass and ss xperts? If so, have you had ANY problems with them? I keep going back and forth on whether I should get one of each.

I dont think they are out yet…have u looked into platinum stages poles? they have all brass and stainless steel poles, and different types, permanent, semi permenent, removable one piece, removable multi piece, etc etc

X pole US just got the brass and SS in and are taking orders. I was hoping that some foreign girls would have experience with them.
I have heard way too many horror stories about platinum stages, so I won't even try them.

I'm glad I didn't order the chrome xpole yet because i just found out about the brass xpole today
. I called xpole today, and the lady told me x-pole US hasn't set a price yet for the brass poles… but she did say they only come in 45mm x-pert and they are taking pre-orders now… here is the number if you wanted to put your name down, if you live in the US 1-888-976-5387… She took my name, number, and email. She told me someone would get back with me when they know a price and call me then and if I still wanted to purchase they can take the info over the phone =D

Ive been to alot of studios and never had a problem with platinum stages. I actually really love them alot because of the easy spin mechanism. You just pull out the pin, and bam, its on spin mode. U dont have to go down, and unscrew it or anything. I also prefer stainless steel over chrome. I never tried brass until last week when i got my platinum stages, but its definitely my favorite because i sweat alot. Im surprised more studios dont have them!!
The thing is though, even if xpole sells brass and stainless steel, is it going to be real? I dont think so, its coming from china. It will probably be some sort of plating. I trust platinum stages because they are made in the USA and have to go thru testing b4 they are sold. I didnt know until recently about the xpoles being from china, and containing lead. If toys with lead are recalled because they are dangerous, whats up with the poles? Obviously there is some sort of danger to them.

The Aussie girls said brass is the best one yet. I agree too as I've tried brass 50mm and 45mm in Toronto and loveeeee it! Brass is the best grippy metal for me. Not too slippery like SS but not too grippy like TG. Just right.
A month ago, Lindsey told me brass will be available in 45mm x-pert only and price is $429.99. *crosses fingers it's lower now*
$$$$$$ but IMO it's worth it b/c their chrome now is blech compared the original chrome. X-Pole chrome is less slippery than stainless steel. I'm gonna keep both brass 45mm and original chrome 50mm.

They told me $429.99 for brass and $379.99 for SS. I may hold off until I 1) hear more about them from other people and 2) get money.

Brass is amazing, but my xjoint was faulty on it. still waiting on replacement part 🙁

I don't care for brass because of the upkeep required…they begin to oxidize immediately and even before you can see it there is a tarnish build up. You have to polish them regularly with a brass cleaner or they lose their grip.
I like the ss poles from Pole danzer if anyone doesn't like chrome…they grip far better than either the PS ss or the LM ss.
Plus PS has chrome coated slide covers and ceiling domes that peel off. Additionally the plastic slide cover has sharp edges and I saw someone slice her toe open on the bottom of it.
PS one piece stainless have a different grip then their multi-piece. The multipiece doesn't grip the same at all when I've tried it.

Are the pole danzer poles removable (without screwing stuff in the ceiling) and really sturdy. Also,a re they easy to put up and take down?
-
PoleDanzer is a small company. They are great for permanently mounted poles. Great customer service too. They've been around for years too.
-
I see they have a non-permanent pole, but I am wondering how sturdy it is. The top mount doesn't look like it covers much of a surface area.
-
No…the top is 4" x 4". It works better if you place it against a board between the pole and the ceiling in order to spread the weight load so that it doesn't leave an imprint in the ceiling.
Also without a dome, if it starts to slide, there is nothing to "catch" – it just slides across. But if you get the ceiling adaptor you have a semi-permanent pole that locks in place and won't fall over and you can still take it down when you need to but the adaptor stays up there.
There is no slide cover for the adjuster rod on the multi-height pole either.
The owners are very helpful and friendly and Robert is very knowlegable about trouble shooting various ceiling and room problems to adapt poles in unique situations. I've had their poles in my other studio because of the steel joists we had to deal with mounting to. He helped a lot.

If we rent a house in the future, I may get one of those to try. I will not try platinum stages, and the x joints are such a pain. I would love to have a pne piece pole.

I will still get myself a brass pole one of these days. I just love them. One of the private clubs around here has one and I'm sure it wasn't polished in about 4 years before I started going there and I still had the best grip on it of my life. The chrome x-poles are pretty grippy for me most of the time but I still want a brass. But it will have to wait because my next pole will be a stage pole.
