Posted by Cheaannette on February 9, 2011 at 8:17 pmI got my pole yesterday and i can do some stuff on it. I can climb but when i try to sit on it the pole burn on my fat thighs hurts lol. Does that go away? I have very strong legs but for some reason can't sit on the pole! How do I do this? Do i need to lose weight before this can happen? TIA

Pole burn is a natural part of pole when you start to do something new. It does go away but will come back sometimes when you learn a new trick.

Don't worry, the pain (and also bruises) is normal. It will go away as you do this move more often, and will come back if you stop doing it for a couple of weeks. As you improve with poling and go on doing more advanced stuff, you'll get more bruises on parts of your thighs that hurt even more – but it's worth it!

I too struggle with this. The searing ripping burnig pain between your legs ..ouch! I have been trying to do the Inverted Crucifix and I cant do it because of the pain, today the insides of my legs are bruised quite badly.. but kinda proud of them..hee hee
People tell me you will get past this stage , I know its seems impossible to think, So keep going with it..
Good Luck. :0)

WOW I have never seen bruises like those on that facebook page… THEY ALL SEEM VERY PROUD TO BE BRUISED THROUGH POLING. Makes mine look tiny.. sorry about caps locks there..

I have extra love on my legs as well. Over time, you will find your sweet spot on your legs. I got a nasty bruise on the back of my thigh from doing CAR after CAR (I think I did like 5 of them).
Be proud of them – its hard work paying off!

It's totally normal to feel the burn 😉
it doesn't matter what shape or size those lovely thighs are, they BURN like a biatch!
Good news is, IT STOPS!! Give yourself time to get aquainted with the pole sits and thigh squeeze moves. I guarantee if you keep it up, one day you'll do a pole sit beautifully with little or no pain at all 🙂
