There is also the Doom Drop…Cross Ankle Release to dead stop at floor.
-
Some people actually stop before they hit the floor on that one? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Seriously is that the one where you are sitting up a bit so your back is parallel with the floor or do you stay lying back the whole time? Any links?

I can do the Sitting Doom and the Straight Doom..
The only other dancer I have ever seen do this is Alena Downs…she has the sitting doom in one of her videos…but I was actually able to catch her doing the Straight Doom on a 22′ pole! It WAS SOOOO COOL!! She just let go of her ankles and dropped like a rocket!! She stopped inches away from the floor! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Saks4JkZXZ8 2:40 ish she does the sitting doom as a slide.

That’s the same vid I first saw the seated version on….I don’t believe I’ve ever seen her do the straight one! That must look great!.
I first saw the "death drop" (crucifix drop) to the floor when Fawnia and I went to a local strip club in Chicago….the girl was on about an 18 foot pole and not only dropped super fast but arched her chest out suddenly at the bottom so that her body fell a bit further. It was incredible because you thought she had already hit the floor with her face before your mind registered that she arched forward!
Unfortunately she came up to talk to us and was so high she could barely slur her words out!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

just watched all the vids in this thread…WOW!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Veena..the new one you are doing is called the Jasmine Drop..you can use it to go into an aysha, SM, oposing gemini or even a flag dismount!!
That is one of Jenyne’s signature moves!! nice! I watch that move again and again to see what I can drop it to!

Thank you Empy for the list of drops and links too!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
No, I have not giving my latest drop a name….I do another drop, its a Knee hold then a drop into the Shoulder Dismount. Its really scary https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif I Know I have a vid of it but can’t seem to remember which one or where it is, I love my shoulder mounts and dismounts!
-
Knee hold to SM…interesting. My SM is my strongest move so it’s my favorite too.

Knee hold to shoulder dismount? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
I’d love to see a vid of that, because I can’t figure how you’d get your hands right for the dismount in time to…well…not eat it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I looked through my vids……I remember it was in the "Lick" vid https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif You’ll have to sit through till near the very end because this was uploaded on the old video player so you can’t fast forward https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

This was the first ever drop that I learned to do. I learned it off this exact video. Alena is the only one I have ever seen do this. I would love to see the straight version! The woman is incredible.
I was amazed at how easy the Jasmine Drop really is. I find it hard to play with this one at home though. It almost started looking like a mistake as we kept rewinding and watching, lol! But I think both Jen and I got it the night we saw the vid https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Wow. Oh wow.
Awesome lists coming out and WOW to the girls who can do these crazy things! They really do look impressive.
I think I’ll just stick with a steady paced death drop for now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Ha ha.

Empyrean, it’s so funny, this is the second time I’ve realised I was performing a move wrong after reading one of your posts. The first time was when we were talking about the shoulder mount with Carrie, and you described the leg positioning for inverted crucifix as being like an upside-down fireman. That was when I realised I had been executing AND teaching the fireman spin wrong! Hahaha! Now that’s one of my favorite stories to tell about myself, that in spite of all the supposedly "advanced" moves I can perform, I still screw up on the beginner ones! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif So now I see that the death drop is a drop from inverted crucifix, wheras previously I had been trying to do that drop from the Tammy!
Aye-yai, thank the Gods for your background and training. Oh and by the way I have finally begun practicing some moves with the true grip and you seem to be right about it. Fleur gave me some encouragement on this topic too. I’m a bit stronger now than the last time I attempted to use this grip, and I feel like if I keep practicing with this grip I’ll have a Chinese Flagpole ready this year and in a roundabout way I’ll have you to thank for it when it happens.
So anyway, keep posting on this forum; there’s no telling what else I’ll find out I’ve been doing wrong! Hahah https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

so glad i asked! this is great! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
i did a craddle spin "drop" but it has to be done on spinny and it isn’t dramatic, but its diffrent. just doing a craddle spin on spinny mode and do small "drops" holding the position til your at the floor. dont just slide down to floor in position..drop a little while maintainin pose. keep doing drops in little spurts til at floor. don’t know why i am going to bother as sure even if supershort clip wont be able to upload (GRRRR!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif ) but will make a clip tommorow and TRY to post… tried the sad girl drop, but its more like a sad girl who can’t drop for me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
atleast for now. i just get stuck.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif
well anyway this has been a great topic and thanks for the replies. especially the links! so helpful https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif -
Thanks for the compliments Stellar but also the names vary in so many ways that what I call a death drop may not be the same move for someone else. I’d love to see that drop from the Tammy!
This is a great thread…I was driving home from class tonight thinking about different drops and what could be combined…unfortunately I see things in my mind that may not always be possible! LOL
