ok…i didn’t get to go to the convention =( but my instructor did and she told me about how they are trying to make a standard in pole move names (which i knew about but i didn’t know how they were going to do it). My instructor joined and got a ringed glossary of the moves and their ‘official’ names. So is studioveena going to be a member of the PFS or are we going to use all names?

It really depends on the Studio. I was listening on the PFA talk, im all for same names for moves. If they pay the fee, they get the book.

The ringed glossary is only a perk for members to buy but access to the list is online as linked above. The list is not going to be something that only members will have access to.

The other concept, to my understanding, is that the list of names is not intended to replace any studio’s or instructor’s list unless they WANT to use the standardized names, but to provide a second language so that everyone can become "bi-lingual" in pole. We have our own names that we use "at home" in our studios but when we travel or talk with others we have a universal language that we all speak so that we can communicate.

That’s my understanding too. A good example is the general name for a half spin is a half spin. I took Azriel to Xpose the other day and the instructor told us to do a "Catch spin" Azzy looked confused and I leaned over and yelled "That’s a half spin". LOL I translated it for her. Bi – lingual. LOL
