do you mean it bows when you spin on it? If so, that's normal. If it is bowing when set up, it is either too tight, or starting to warp (which can happen.)

yup, right where it screws together its moving when you push on it..creating a nice little spot i see getting pinched in if your in the right spot when it bends back.still safe to use or should i upgrade my pole? thanks for the advice, love this site, everyones been so nice!

What kind of pole? There should not be a gap of any kind at any joint.

its an off brand my husband found on te internet.two peices, top tensioner rod. its gapping where you screw the pole together.

If it does not screw back together as it should then I would not use it. This is why we stress getting a good pole to begin. If it is gapping and flexing that is a weak point and the reality is the pole will probably break at this point if you do any aggressive move and/or spin on it.

thats what i was kinda thinking, but wasnt sure.it was a well intentioned gift,nd help up to rigorous use for a few months.but i guess ill just upgrade to an x pole..better safe than sorry! thanks so much for the advice! much appreciated!

Unfortunately, that is one of the problems with the off brand poles. They do not have the same quality or safety precautions as the more expensive name brand poles. Honestly, I'd invest in a high quality pole.
