pole in garage…ceilings maybe too high?
Posted by Legs4Days on March 5, 2013 at 4:48 pmI have a garage that has about a 14 ft high ceiling. I know that if I put a pole there it would have to be permanent…but do they make them that long….?

Yes they do but they need to be reinforced. In this application I would talk to Poledanzer.

I just went through all this about a month ago! Platinum stages has a one piece permanent pole. The interior lining is very thick so it is a competition grade that is much stronger. Xpole also had a build a pole option that is not listed on their site. Again it would be a fixed mount but instead of a single pc pole it wild be a 2 pc, competition grade pole. In this instance you’d need to speak with a rep and they can really guide you. There are some who have said that they would not mount a pole over 12′, from a certain comment I read, because of warping. I have no experience on that end but I have definitely been researching options. The ceiling in my place is about 19/20′ in the middle and slopes down on both sides. This is also above a drop ceiling system with insulation above. I’m using 2 xstages to start out my studio, until I come up with a better solution, or we just will order more stages. Not ideal but they work 😉

Gail, is this for your LM pole or are you getting another one?

Lyme, this would be another one in case my bedroom won't be big enough. I am waiting on the new mount so that I can use the LM.

My ceilings measured at 4.6 m (just over 15ft). I went with a Pussycat Pole. It’s bolted in both ends and reinforced through the centre. I couldn’t be happier with it! Everyone was worried it would flex but it’s as solid as the 3m 50s we use in class.
