Unless a pole is super tight you will not need to use hardly any momentum for Spinning pole. However, some poles spin more smoothly than others. You learn how to adjust for it.  I never swing any limbs when using a smooth spinning pole, like you would on static. Again there are some spinners that are slower so you can use some momentum with those. But I know on my poles I don't need any extra momentum from the body. Here's a video with some tips for spinning poles. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Have you tried to videotape youself spinning? I thought the same about my pole at first, but then I taped it and realized that it looked like other poledancers spins. It was just scary at first. Ofcourse that is only if you are new to spins. 🙂
