pole studio in philly, nyc area
Posted by XxMissPrissxX on August 25, 2012 at 10:55 amHi girls!
Im going home to NJ next week and i was thinking of trying a studio or two in the area. Id like a private 2 on 1 session that isnt too expensive. Ive been telling my best friend how awesome pole is and she wants to take a class with me! Does anyone know of a good studio around the area? I googled it but so many come up its kind of overwhelming! Ahhh!! Anyways, we were looking to spend around $30 each.
Thanks Girls!

I live in Delaware currently, but I’m from North Jersey and have been everywhere in between. 🙂 where exactly will you be? That can help me narrow it down for you.

Brick town, toms rivre area… ocean county. Were willing to travel as far as NYC or Philly. :] any help you can offer is appreciated!

The studio where I first learned is in central NJ (Warren to be exact) and I highly recommend it. It’s called Dakini Aerial Movement. If you’re willing to travel to NYC there is always the very famous Body and Pole, as well as Shockra and S Factor. The major Philly pole dance studio is Awakenings in Manayunk (northwest Philly). If you are looking for something actually in Ocean county I can ask my NJ friends for advice. Have fun during your visit! I’m a Sussex county girl but went to Rutgers and got married in Long Branch and vacation in LBI… I’ve been all over 🙂

I have had the hardest time finding a studio in or around ocean county. If your friends happen to know of one please let me know!! I was born in freehold and go married in island beach state park. Im going to look intothe studios you mentioned. I emailed Awakeings for pricing info already so im waiting for a respinse. I do beleive they opened a second location in king of prussia not sure which is closer tho. Thanks for helping me!!

Master Js right downtown Philly. Spent a few days there and loved it!!! I believe u can buy 3 classes for 25 dollars if u pay up front. They have a lot of classes and u can fit into any of them.

I have been to the King of Prussia location… It’s nice and a lot easier to park at that location, but the trip would be pretty annoying from Ocean county… It’s annoying enough from where I live. Manayunk is a real pain for parking, but at least you’d be in Philly and could do more for the rest of the day. There’s not much to do in King of Prussia except go to the giant mall. 🙂

I bet you could even take the bus into downtown Philly. I loved just walking around after classes, just people watching. It is so interesting, and love the Philly Parking Authority….AKA Parking Wars TV Show. I followed some of them around a few days as well and watched people arguing with them, ripping up their tickets etc. It was so exciting! Saw a fist fight too between a couple drunk guys too. I think I would like to retire there someday.

Hi MissPriss,
Awakenings Pole Dance Fitness actually has two studio locations: one in Manayunk (which does have a parking lot that only costs $2.50 or street parking is also available) and also King of Prussia (which has a designated free parking lot). Both studios are convenient and the Manayunk studio boasts 12ft poles. I happen to own Awakenings so let me know if I can be of any help to you in planning your Philly stop! I love to meet fellow Veeners!

Gotcha! You can also come to a regularly scheduled class for a trial rate of $30/ class if that works better for you both!
