powder coating a pole?
Posted by Iron Lady on December 4, 2014 at 8:47 amMy pole is extremely slippery and so I have been investigating getting it powder coated however is there a special type of powder coating I should be looking for or can I just go anywhere and get it done?
I am desperate at the moment for anything to help with this!

Most powder coaters will shoot several different finishes. They should have samples on hand of each one. Simply ask to feel some of their samples.

I had my brass powder coated in clear and it was just as slick. I think you need to have some color particals in the coating for some stickage. Stay clear of clear and get a neat color! 🙂

If you go the powder coating route, you will need to call local shops around that do it. Should be able to find it in your yellow pages or just google powder coating place+ your local area. Make sure to call around and get quotes. I had my first pole pc’ed about 3 years ago, pictures are on my page. It cost me about $65 to get it done. Good luck!!

Hi, I got my pole powder coated. It helped a lot but I live in Pittsburgh and it sometimes gets slick. But it’s great when it’s warm.
Happy poling 🙂 -
Thanks for your advice! I have called around the companies to ask for quotes on price and it doesn’t seem too bad! I do live in Sydney and it’s summer atm so heat is not a problem! But it does get cols in the winter… Would shaving cream do the trick then?

Powder coating is usually done by a paint shop. If you have a shop that does auto painting they will often do powder coating as well.
