Hi there, i was doing pole fitness about 3 times per week at an intermediate level before I found out I was pregnant, soon after I became ill with morning (all dayhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif sickness) and ended up taking the pole down sadly because it broke my heart to see it and not have the engery to use it..

Anyways.. Im now 14weeks pregnant  and everything has settled down (YAY!!!)https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif and I really want to put the pole back up..

After having 10 weeks of not being able to do any physical activity would any pole activity be okay??…

Ive read vennas guidelines about not learning new tricks and info regarding inverts but havent found anything regarding stoping and starting again..

Ive spoken to my midwife.. my gosh she just gave me that look (you know the one) and didnt wish to advise or discuss it and just said a nice walk would be satisfactory…

    Please help 🙂

    Firstly- congratulations!
I’m an ex personal trainer and in my opinion I would say no unfortunately.
Having said that it would be ok If your only doing some easy spins or floor work but nothing requiring use of your core.
The body changes so much during pregnancy and very much so in the first trimester. Going back on the pole could feel like starting all over again due to the changes your body is going through. Pregnancy is not a time to restart a new exercise. (I know it’s not new- but it will probably feel that way).
I had to give up poling early on when I was pregnant with my baby- I missed it soo much. But it’s a small price to pay for a healthy bubs!

You can always try but stick to the basics- nothing strenuous.  Keep your body right side up- no inverting.  The dancing aspect of pole can often be enough for a workout so this could be a great time for you to work on your flow and transitions with dance.  There are also other great cross training workouts suitable for pregnancy.  A lot of polers also hoop.  Hooping is a great alternative workout and will also focus your workout in bodily areas that will be neglected while you are unable to progress with poling.  Hoopnotica has a whole sytem designed around pregnancy and hooping. Start things slow as your body has changed.  You will be able to tell when you have limitations.

    You go Milien!

I am 30 weeks and I stopped going to the studio for pole 6-7 weeks ago. I have only done "light" pole dancing at home since. I was still inverting and all 22 weeks in. Since you took a small break, just go back slow. Maybe once the first week and two the next two and finally three. That way you don't do too much. I don't do fan kicks on the pole, or the ab work on the pole. I also have to omit any moves that my baby bump comes in the way of.(jade splits-my bump is sooooo low for that, TG handspring  is also way hard to do right now) etc.

Have fun! Enjoy! I did a thread I think that is called 'who is pregnant and poling".I tried to update it every now and then and there is even a post of a woman who is 40 weeks and pregnant on it who does an awesome job. Just listen to your body to be your guide!

    Good luck!
