pull up/pole up
Posted by Phoenix Hunter on September 21, 2013 at 11:31 amFor the life of me I can not even remotely do a pole up. not even a 1/4 of an inch. I have breast implants that are under the muscle and wondered if this is interferring with my strength. I havent been able to do a push up since I got implants , I've had them over 10 years. Anyone else have implants and have this problem? Can I get stronger with them in the way? I've seen body builders with implants but I always assumed their implants were above the muscle. Thanks!

idk about the implant part and id like to know too as i have been wanting a BA since i was 13, but as far as the pull up it self,im 29 and jus did my 1st one ever from a dead lift!! and i mean ever..lol..i do alot of push ups and i lift weights 3x a week and eat clean as possible, i started working out and poling in march…keep at it! once you do it,it will be awesome,bc of all the hard work you put it to get it even if it is just one 🙂 also for your push up start on your knees 🙂

I have implants under the muscle and I can do a pullup–yes, only one. I train using a resistance band and can do quite a few with that. I can also do pushups without any problem. Pullups are more about your back muscles than your chest so the implants shouldn't interfere. Some chest work definitely feels weird now that I have implants (I've had them eight years), particularly flyes, but I don't think they impair our strength in any way.

I’ve had my implants for about a year and a half (under the muscle) and can do pull-ups. I was back to pole about 3 months after my surgery but taking it slow, literally starting with a fireman spin all over again! Now, I’m right back to my previous form, it still feels slightly odd when I do those movements but I changed my body so that’s natural.
Are you focusing on engaging your lats? That helps me. Otherwise, some gyms have assisted push-up machines where the machine will support some of your weight for you. Maybe try one of those. -
Yep, everything feels weird. even opening a really heavy door, I can feel my muscles contracting and my implants moving around. I really think some of my muscle detached from my sternum when I got my implants. there is a really weak spot on my chest wall. I guess I've always been scared that the muscles would tear if I really tried to do push-ups, chest exercises, etc. they look weird when I pull myself up on the pole. they contract really high, I'm kinda self conscious about it and havent noticed it with other girls who I suspect have implants. but i think their's are above the muscle.

If you feel like you have a weak spot or any other questions you should follow up with your surgeon and get your questions answered. Find out for sure if there are any restrictions. I know what you mean about the weird feeling when you open a heavy door–I can feel that too.

I have under-the-muscle implants also and while my strength isn’t affected, that weird pulling up with any pec contraction is just what happens. It does look pretty ugly but I consider it a small price to pay for having otherwise gorgeous boobies.
