Jayjay- You said " so I think it is just a matter of working it over and over ?" Yes, for me anyway, once I get used to the move its no longer an issue. Every new inverted move I attempt I feel "fear" again but I try to remember 1. I know how to fall properly 2. I can overcome 3. It takes practice to feel comfortable. Fear is natural reaction to many things, the key is acknowledging it and then pushing through it. I’m hoping in time I wont even have that reaction to new inverted moves, but even if it doesn’t go away I know it will pass as I work through it. I started inverting not long ago, so time will tell. Also, work at your own pace. Good luck to you!

hey jayjay,
it probably feels awkard b/c you have your legs crossed differently when you do a regular invert into inverted crucifix vs. a shoulder mount into inverted crucifix. people usually get used to crossing their legs in a particular way (left leg in front, right leg behind or right leg in front, left leg behind) so when you end up doing a different type of invert it will catch you off guard and something won’t feel "quite right". to fix this, i just have students learn inverts on both sides (especially inverted crucifix) that way they get used to having their legs crossed both ways and can find the muscle memory/activation for it. i had to do this for a while and still practice b/c it still feels weird to have my legs crossed opposite of what i am used to. its a small thing but it does make a difference

thanks anngiern ! i’m a right leg behind girl, no matter what https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif i’m pretty sure my issue is more psychological than anything else, so will go back to basics of just invert/move around front, and keep repeating till it feels like a walk in the park https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif appreciate your pointers tho !
