I got a shoulder mount today for the first time using the Respect Grip. I think I’m going to try the Veena grip too…

I do the average SM grip the one it sounds like your trying, just before 2:06 and if you watch you can see me switch to veena grip in the middle of the hold.

I’m still sick, but I just had to try the shoulder mount with your grip. AND IT WORKED!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
That’s the first time I’ve ever been able to get the shoulder mount! I tried it twice more, and my feet just missed the pole, but I’ll blame that on sickness. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gifMindy

im getting closer to getting this damn move lol iv discovered the hand placement that im most comfortable with (one that i thought id made up and was totally cheating) is called the twisted chinese grip, which i see is on the wikipole site! it looks weird and wrong but amazingly its one i kinda fell into doing on my own but was reluctant to continue trying it as i thought if i was doing one id made up id break a wrist or something. I find if i lean way back and give a good kick up with the outside leg im almost getting there! …my toes touched the pole last night!..whooo big difference from not being able to get my feet off the floor! Tryed the respect grip and princess grip and still got no were https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif i think its because in those grips one hand is still in a cupped thumbs down position which i still cant work with. So lets hope i get it with the chinese grip!…haa its only taken me a year!! never in my life have i taken so long to get one pole move! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
