    I got my pole on the 29th of April and, feeling super excited, put it up that very night. Then I realised I couldn’t do *any* of the moves I took for granted, and that my grip really suffers on chrome.
    Now almost one month later I can climb the pole, lay back, do some (dodgy) inverts, spins, getting close to the splits again…
    I honestly felt so awful that first week of having the pole that I hardly touched it. I felt as if I could never get back the strength I used to have and it is honestly such a wonderful feeling to just be able to climb the pole again, to wake up feeling stiff and sore, not from injuries and physio, but from solid work exercising and stretching.
    Thanks for providing such a great space to share my journey with all you lovely, supportive and incredibly talented men and women

    Thanks, Skramamme. I needed this boast of confidence so badly. I just got my pole this week and found out that I have lost every bit of my poling strength, in the last three years. You gave me the inspiration to keep going.

    I quit studio lessons about a year ago but I have a pole at home. However, buying new acreage has taken up all of my time (fences, weeds, trees, etc) so I haven’t done much pole. I’ve been working hard physically so I was surprised to find that I had *lost* so many pole moves. It is discouraging for sure. I’ve decided to give myself the summer off (just some “dancing” here and there rather than training) and get the SV lessons again this fall and start all over from day 1 of the 30 days. I am doing cardio this summer but that’s about it for any regular workouts (unless hauling hay and building fences counts). Good luck, you’ll get your strength back.
