Ok, so hubby gets home after a week of work and he's excited to see what I can do so far. Well, thats barely anything, which is ok. That is until he makes his first attempt at playing with the pole and gets the fireman down perfectly all of the 12 times he did it! I was like https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif no fair! Anyone else ever work your butt off not even to get half way to your goal but have a hubby or a friend who just gets it the first time?

When I first took classes it took me weeks and weeks to even get my front and back hook spins down. Now that I've improved a lot I got my pole at home, let my male housemate have a go and he was literally able to watch me do combos of 2 or 3 spins and then copy them perfectly first time – and do it gracefully!! I was impressed but so annoyed 😛

One of my online pole friends can do moves after watching a video with them once! For me it takes watching someone do it over and over just to understand what I have to do. Once I'm at the pole doing it I get some weird pole amnesia and fail epicly, lol. Km maybe our brains are geared differently like more book smart or something? 😛

When I got my pole, my boyfriend played on it a bit and did handsprings right away…

He doesn’t do any sports, that makes it even worse.

Oh ya that is so annoying. Cool but annoying. Then again a man's build is much different from a woman's, especially in the upper body and strength area. Guess I'll give him that 😛

Yeah, guys just have the advantage in the upper body strength area.  The guy that I do acro and pole with dead lifted into his iron X in the first 6 months of poling.  I'm still trying to do that.  But ask him to do anything that requires any flexibility…. Yeah, that isn't happening any time soon!

The pole studio I go to sometimes has men’s workshops. Yes, in general, men may be stronger, but they lack flexibility.

Hubby tried showing off his awesome skills but you're right girls. As soon as it came to any flexibility he practically belly flopped. Belly pole burn is SO not what he expected hehe. But he did compliment that my transition from the ground into a fireman was looking better 🙂 Progress!!!

I had a guy yesterday who could do flag inverts and what not. But he wasn't being cocky about it, he was just trying to show some of us ladies at the studio how he did them. I  agree with Hazi411. Men lack flexibility. I tried to show him Marley and he couldn't do it. 🙂 Even some of the more flexible men struggle with the back moves. Just get them to try flexi moves first! That'll show him!
