LOL! I was told that that is called the Twisted Ballerina https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Hello o familiar confusion! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_colors.gif

Ha ha. Yes, I get confused so badly. I always have to translate different names I have seen or learned online for each move in my head in pole class when they say do this, this, this, this then this. It’s like speaking different languages. I don’t know where I saw it called a Skater Split. Twisted Ballerina is nicer and goes with Flying Ballerina better https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I know!!! We have our own names for a lot of moves too (e.g. gemini=cliffhanger; back hook spin=flashdance, etc.). So explaining moves to my polebuddies is always confusing. Switching back and forth between different pole lingos. I totally feel your pain! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif Anyway, I try to stick as much as possible to the names that are used most on SV, with wikipole as a backup.
I agree, btw, with the point about the ballerinas going together nicely. It gives us a whole range of ballerinas to choose from https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
Lol, this is nothing! Try going to a studio where they think they’ve "made up" a move such as the reverse grab! And call everything something different! That was my first pole experience. I still have a hard time calling it a Half spin, and not a Swing dip, or a back hook spin not a Halfpint, or a front hook spin a ballerina spin/showgirl spin. Seriously, changing lingo is really hard!
Is wikipole really helpful to everyone else? Every time I go there, they don’t have any explanations of the moves or pictures, so I’m never sure what move they’re talking about! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif -
It’s not always helpful. The spins category is still under construction I think. But a lot of the tricks have pictures or videos. A half wiki is better than no wiki https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
