Charleys your tutorial was great! It was really cool to finally hear your voice too! You sound like a wonderful teacher. You guys should defiantly watch them both, she makes note of things that I don’t so between the two you all should have a good idea on how to do this move. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif let us know how it goes. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

I kept it short and sweet! I just watched yours and you make good mention of those thighs staying locked until you’ve got it. THIGHS then switch arms.

I LOVE this move right now.

How are you liking the FLIP? I am thinking about getting one. *This is one expensive hobby*

Do you think the same thing could be done with gemini?

Can this move be done from a gemini-(gemini switch) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif I’m very comfortable in the gemini but not that strong on the scorpio.

Yes it can….I figured out how to do the spinning gemini first actually. It feels different but the concept is pretty much the same. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hi everyone, So, I have been practicing the spinning scorpio. Thanks again to the beautiful and talented VEENA and CHARLY’s great tutorial. I did the spinning scorpio in my first vid. but I found it harder to spin in my heavy boots. Please let me know what you think. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif Thanks,Joni

Wow, I am still having a problem with this one

    Scorpio- easy
    Crucifix/Bat – easy
    Last part of it- impossible

So, it starts with an outside leg hook and ends with an inside leg hook?
My left leg is hooked both times, it’s just that on the last part of it it’s hooked inside leg hook as opposed to outside
Except on this part it’s on the "wrong " side of my body… as if I inverted with the pole to my left.. being right handed, this always feels awkward. I slip out of it quickly each time, nearly falling on my head.

    What’s the deal?

Hey Julie – your actually going to switch legs and arms in this move – you will be in scorpio (inside leg hang on both sides of your body)

Invert on the side your normally would – go into inside leg hang, from there you will go into the thigh hold for a moment bring your opposite armpit around the pole and secure, then be sure to grip the opposite leg (it will be your new inside leg) on the pole and release your outside leg(previously this was your inside leg)

    I hope that makes sense.

Oh Shit… so I would think of it as a spinning gemini actually since gemini is my term for inside leg

Inside leg-> bat or crucifix -> inside leg

This seems now much harder as I find it much harder to stay stable with an inside leg hook

Sigh, is there an outside leg -> bat -> outsie leg version… is that possible?

i’ve been desperately neglecting my weak side for a while now, but am dying to do this move. i can do it if i start on my weak side, but can’t really get high enough on the pole and i haven’t tried an aerial on that side yet.

i wish i was good from the beginning and learned everything in progression on both sides!! grr!

Thank you so much for this thread!

I’m sitting here at my folks’ house for the holidays missing my pole, and threads like this are just what I need to inspire me and give me things to work on when I get back home!

Scorpio is like a nemesis move for me, I can do it but it hurts like hell. It irritates me no end that I can SM, handspring etc but I have an unreliable scorpio… hopefully working with it as opposed to on it will clear up all the niggles I have with it. I think it’s a mental block!

But anyway, thanks for the thread and Charley and Veena for the fab tutorial videos https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Merry Christmas! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
