what is your definition of sponsorship
if someone gives you one free item and then ask you to sell some, is that sponsorship or making you a sale person
what if you didnt really need THAT particular item but needed another one and they wouldnt let you have it until you mades some sales ( a lot)

What you are describing is not sponsorship. That is simply making you a salesperson, presumably a poorly paid one at that.
Sponsorship is a mutually beneficial situation where a vendor selects talent representative of their industry and gives them significant, generally monetary, benefit in exchange for a positive representation of their product.
