  I am almost 6 feet tall….I probably need to take that into consideration when buying  a pole..

  Depending on how tall your ceilings are it will become an issue, but typically not until your have a really strong invert.  Even when you are just lerning inverts you will be fine as most people slide down quite a bit on their first inversions.  I cannot tell you how many times I have cut my foot on our sharply stuccoed ceiling!
