I am curious, supposedly the brass poles grip gets better when it tarnishes, and this tarnish is supposed to act to protact the metal layers underneath from further tarnish, then why would I bother to clean off this tarnish?? I understand that the tarnish is a consmetic flaw, and can be quite ugly, but is this the only reason people clean the poles? for cosmetic reasons? Cuz if it gives a better grip to leave the tarnish and if it is BETTER for my pole to leave the tarnish in the long run, then I won't even bother to remove it. I'll just clean it like I would any regular pole.

    Input????
