Hi, I'm Joy I found the Studiovenna site a few weeks ago -I have gotten back in to pole after over a year of barely exercising. I love pole dancing and with that and changing my eating habits I have lost 10+ lbs in the past month. Anyway, I think I pulled my glute muscle or hip muscle or something. I was doing some hip moves and now I have an on and off dull ache in my right hip/butt cheek. Anyway besides ice and ibuprophin, what do I do? How long before I can get back on the pole and are there any other excercises I can do in the meantime? I am so bummed and feel I am going to lose all my strength and muscle I have gained in the past month. TIA!

Welcome, Joy. Do you have Veena's lessons? In the Foam Roller section you will find some good stuff for rolling your hips/glutes. It's just like getting a massage. Ice is good at the start, but then switch to heat. If it isn't too painful, try some light stretching.

Hi welcome, sorry to hear about the booty boo boo! Saphyre has a good suggestion about the foam roller, they come in really handy if you don't have someone to give you a massage. The ache could also just be a sore muscle and the foam roller will help that too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
