to talk about pole, or not….
Posted by Anonyma on May 10, 2013 at 11:56 amok so i am in a situation here, ive been selected to participate to a cooking show. Its a concept where you cook for 4 persons and then you go eat at their places… they want me to pole…and I am not sure if I should reveal my skills or not! I mean I don't mind for my introduction , but for when the other participants will be at my place, I am not so sure about that.
And of course the only people who can understand this situation and give me advice is you ladies. I need as much opinions as possible, positive OR negative, and why! I love pole, but this will be on tv and I don't want to look bad if ya know what I mean! Thanks xoxox

I agree! Go for it! Pick some really impressive moves to show off to the world!

You are going to participate to “un souper presque parfait” ?
Tell me when it is going to pass on tv and i will watch it 🙂
For your question: montre a tous le monde la vérité a propos de la pole. Que ce n’est pas juste du topless que ca prend de la force et flexibilité.
Lets go girl 🙂 -
Congratulations on being selected for the show! I assume you applied to it and not that someone else entered your name. This is an opportunity for exposure – Good and Bad. Many people have opened Pandora's box of fame with reality television appearances. Be ready! I am a new vertical athlete, no dance background, and I am innately shy until I get to know everyone in a new setting. I would consider how the show selected you. Do they want a chef to serve hot food or do they want a hot dancer to spice up a show based on serving food? T.V. will exploit anything and anyone for ratings. But most important is want you desire to get out of doing this show – If you want to a chance to showcase what athletic talent you have then polish your pole for a cooking show. If you want a chance to showcase what a good cook you are then know that you have the option to make banana splits or do banana splits. If the show did not make contestants have a cook-off then I would not think they are seriously trying to discover the next Anna Olsen or Guy Rubino. Just have fun and leave yourself the option to pole or not after you get on camera. Congratulations again!

Congrats on the show! I agree they probably just want to spice the show up. I would just point out to be prepared for negative comments from some viewers. I would personally love pole dancing to be on tv more but there are always party poopers out there that will try bring you down. But hell youre hot and get a chance to be on tv!! Id probably do it if i could 😀

Yes there may well be negative comments BUT ‘for every negative there is a positive’ if you don’t get on the pole in lingerie and don’t gyrate around it then I really don’t see what could be said about pole apart from WOW! 🙂

its because they really insist that I do pole….the show is a bit sarcastic and people are often leaving sarcastic comments on their page. I really wanted to focus on my cooking skills
I 've been on tv other times for pole and it was cool, just this time i'd like to be serious, and I know they will make fun of me….

We call this show come done with me in the UK. The producers probably think its going to be saucy. Do it but present it in a fitness way. Do some strength moves, hide your heels and lingerie.

I recently turned down the opportunity to dance on TV because I was worrie it would be shown in a bad light. The show aired last week and I really regret it.

if your intuition is telling you, they might just want you to perform on the show to make fun of you, or disregard your interest as being presented respectfully and honestly…dont do it. But, im not sure of what show it is, but if i had this opportunity i would approach simply stick to althletic sneakers or bare feet and yoga pants. leave the lingerie at home, though pole dancing has a sexy side, i believe theres a time and a place for such things, and lastly, stay away from the reoccuring pole dancers vs strippers debate. we pole dancers know the amount of athleticism that is involved. but its not worth accidently offending the erotic dancers within the pole dance community we know we are all equal as athletes but its exhausting to try and defend everyone, so just avoid it all together if it comes down to it
