I have a Carmen Electra pole which isn’t your normal brass pole. It is great for learning tricks and building stamina for holding a pose but i can’t seem to even start to spin.. I just sick to the pole. Dies anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make my skin drier without slipping off the pole?

First I am going to say: BE CAREFUL WITH THIS POLE. It does not have a great reputation. Second, I did not know that the Carmen came in anything but chrome. Are you sure of the brand? As for spinning, it really is a matter of learning how to control your grip. You can try wiping your hands with alcohol to dry them out or even try a little baby powder but I am afraid that the powder may make your hands too slippery. A good way to learn to control your grip is to do a pole hold, bend your knees as if kneeling and then slowly lower your body to the ground landing on your knees. You want this to be a smooth and controlled ride to the ground. And really, it is just practice, practice, practice.

Yes be careful with this pole! I think it was made more for posing/holds like you mentioned you’ve been practicing (unless maybe you have a newer model??). I had one before I found the wonderful world of Studioveena and learned the hard way it was not for spins….spin the wrong direction and the pole would spin itself loose and fall out from under (ouch)…. (Sorry hit submit too soon) good luck with your grip I don’t have exp with TOO much grip so id say it’s mostly like Chem said you’ll need to fina a balance by practicing and maybe loosening your hands some (you must just have super strong grip I wish!) also I find chrome to be the stickiest so maybe if you ever get a new pole you could consider a different finish like stainless

Yes, be careful if it is a Carmen pole! Everyone has great advice. If you are looking for more guidance check out the lessons here, you’ll find grip strengthening exercises along with help for moves like Pole Holds with a slide down to the floor for grip control as mentioned. Good luck!
