    Hey ladies,

I’m leaving for Australia in about a month! I’ll be down there for the Miss Pole Dance Australia comp, can’t wait to buy tickets! I’ll be there end of Sept and most of October, and I’m looking for suggestions on studios to visit and/or instructors I just have to take a class from. If anyone wants to meet up and have a mini jam or practice session, I’m down for that, too. I’ll be doing touristy stuff before and after the competition, so let me know where you are and we’ll try to set something up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Hi Babe,

you should definitely take classes at Bobbi’s Pole Studio in Sydney. I believe we will be hosting many workshops as well around the time of Miss Pole Dance Australia with various instructors, both local and international.

I’ll be in Sydney for the comp as I’ll be featuring in the opening act for MPDA, but I live and teach pole at Bobbi’s in Perth (other side of the country to Sydney) so if you come over my way you can come and take some classes with me or have a private lesson.

    Have fun!

    X

Where are you intending to visit? Since you’re around for 5 or 6 weeks (it sounds like) do you have plans to travel up the east coast or anything?

I want to try to hit up east and west coast, and hopefully NZ for a weekish. I booked the flight when it was on sale, figured I could plan the rest later https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Ideally want to hit up studios where ever I go, and like a true addict, I’m willing to plan where I go around where the studios are!

    Thanks for the responses!
Found the deal through Quantas… apparently if you book flights in the off season for the next off season they’re quite a bit cheaper.
As soon as I get an idea of when I’ll be where, I’ll let you know.
    Look forward to seeing you!

am sure you’ll have a fab time over here.

with studio suggestions, it depends on what kind of pole style you prefer – athletic/gymnastics, circus, modern dance based, sensual pole? there are studios that fit all of these styles, mainly in the east coast capitals of Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane. Which type are you after & I can help with more specific recs? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I’ll for sure be in Sydney and Melbourne (in touch with pole divas about workshops/drop ins, yay!).
Perth is looking hard to get to, timewise, so hopefully Allegra will be offering workshops or maybe a private in Sydney during the comp (hint hint =P)?
Really looking for studios that offer drop ins or workshops, or names of instructors to book a private with, and I tend to prefer learning the more athletic tricks and transitions.

    Thanks!

Cool – well in Sydney for the more athletic type of tricks your best bet would be to try: –

    A private with Suzie Q at…
    http://www.suzieqpolestudio.com.au/

    A private with Jamilla at…
    http://www.jamilla.com.au/

A private with Bobbi or Cleo at…
    http://www.bobbispolestudio.com.au/

In Melbourne, Pole Divas or a private with Mulan at http://www.hotpantsandheels.com.au/

If you get to Brisbane, there are some mad girls at Cosmopoletan, Pole Gym, Girlfriend etc that do crazy tricks too.

I’ve been lucky enough to have trained with all of these teachers over the past few years and can recommend them all. Hope you’ll get some new moves out of it & have a blast!

Do you prefer a certain type of pole to work with as well? Each different school and each studio within the school (some have 4 or more studios and are franchises) may have different finishes and widths, and some have either static or spinning, or both.
