Thanks Paulette for asking!
I didn't know they offered ebooks and this may be more affordable. They have one last spot open on Sunday the 16 of Oct too at the BodyandPole place in New York if anyone is close.(for the APFA competition.
Talked to the studio and they were quite modest, conservative and a little rude, but I am sure the classes will be great.

I have the DVDs. Just a warning that one of their stretch is contra-indicated for the knees. The stretch is the one where you lay flat on your back with both knees bent so that your heels are next to your hips. It hyper-flexes the knees and I definitely don't recommend it.
I'd stick to Veena's lessons. Just sayin'.

PS. If someone wants to buy the Valentino DVDs from me, I will gladly sell them.

thanks for the info angel. that sounds dangerous! i don´t have the dvd with this exercises, but if i´ll once get, it´s good to know that

Just bought, and did, the front split/spine dvd. I really liked it, but it's soo hard to hold the stretches for one minute! I think I'm gonna do Veenas stretches 2 times a week and then VB once every week. Flexyness here I come…https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Are they instant download Vaudeville?
I'm torn about buying stuff like this. So hard to know if there's anything in it you're not already covering by other means, to justify the expense.
-
@miraine yes as soon as you’ve payed they send you a link via email! There is no new or unique stretches on there, so if you already know a lot of stretches, you don’t need this dvd! I bought it because I need to have a routine to follow and I get bored if it’s the same routine everytime.

@Leahrose I also sit like that, i find it comfy. Sounds scary that it's bad for your kneeshttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

Does anyone have the backbend DVD? I am interested in that one. I have been looking for a really good back routine and wonder if this one is worth it? I am kinda piecing together different back stretches and would love a routine to follow that would challenge me

Leah & Vaud – Knee hyperflexion stresses the knee joint. It's not good to take a joint beyond it's normal range of motion. You have many ligaments in your knee and a meniscus. Hyperflexion can tear the soft tissue of the knee joint. You can google many articles about 'sitting in the W position' to learn about concerns for that position. It may be fine for you to sit that way and you might both have hypermobile joints. I have a hypermobility condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and many people with it sit like that as a child. I can do all sorts of funky things with my joints, but I know I shouldn't. I can touch my thumbs to my wrists and the top knuckle of my fingers and toes bend backwards, etc. My doc at Hopkins is all over me for being cautious with my joints which is one of the reasons my alarm bells went off when doing the V bros video. I am also an ACE certified instructor and we are warned not to instruct our classes to hyperflex or hyperextend the joints. We can be held liable if we do that and someone gets an injury. Lots of girls hyper extend their elbows while poling and I often have to correct it. Just be careful and listen to your body. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yes, i learned from hanging around parenting forums that people (kids included) shouldn't do the W sit. I move my kids legs when I see them sitting like that. I never sit like that, but beacuse I HAVE to try things for myself, when I read that I tried it and hurt my knee. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

hmm in the basic dvd, they have alternative of only doing one leg at a time (and it's under my bum). I think that one is ok for the knee as it's just a quad stretch…?

@emotioncatcher- Which DVD did you get and how are you liking it? I ended up ordering the entire set. I really like them. I find them to be challenging. Been doing in sequence for a week and a half now and see results already. I am foam rolling before and after. Some of the moves in backbend, I cannot do yet and I need variation for the scorpion cheast stand etc.. Need to google a baby version or a sequence of learning to get into the move. The rest I found I could do with putting on long scks and using the sock where I cant yet grab my foot in that position. I am really enjoying them! Thanks for the info. I alays need something to challnge me or I get bored quickly. Love these.

@Vaudeville- I feeel I have benefited form thse split DVDs in addiion to Veena's.
They are not exactly the same. The VB is a bit more intese and uses the blocks to achieve oversplits- the poses seem more challenging to hold for the entire minute to me. (if you are going a long w DVD or veena split lesson- I know she says you can pause and hold as long as you like- I just never do, simply follow the routine!) The other videos – inward an outward joints really focus on those areas you need flexible tofully open up- I just love them. I was also dying for a back routine. This one is intense but I feel has given me what I have been looking for.
It is challenging and I love the sequence and flow. THats just my opinion though, I love mixing it up a bit otherwise get bored and I think my muscles also get bored wit the same repetiotion. I ordered ALtheas splits as well and will rotate and incorporate all of them.

@paulettepoles: i bought the ebooks for side and front splits and like them, too. when i don´t have a complete hour i only do the exercises i only do those exercises which are necessary for the splits and leave the stretches for other body parts out or do them only very short. although i didn´t work on my side splits for a while before i could reach a very low position at the first time i followed the exercises.
the only thing i miss are some explanations about the splits. in the front split ebook one exercise is a front split (but there are different variations) and in the side split ebook you don´t even do a side split. i do one of course afterwards as this is what i bought the ebooks for… but i really miss some tipps to get a good and right position in the splits and stuff like that.
