vaulted ceiling mount for lyra?
is there any possible way to rig a lyra from xpole's vaulted ceiling mount??

I would say definitely no. Lyra is completely different to a pole, and needs a professional rigging point, with the correct aparatus and carabinas. Something bolted into a ceiling point meant to support a pole which touched the ground cannot hold a lyra and a person. Sorry 🙁

i was going to get a lyra as well.i keep trying to look up the ceiling to see how they mount it but every one dont show in detail really dont show nothing.does anyone have a video or pictures showing how to mount it exactly?ill be hanging it in my basement.

While it is *possible* it does have some technical difficulties. The primary problem is that the vaulted ceiling mount is designed to be loaded in compression, not tension. The small screws supplied with it are not sufficient to support the load of a moving person. They would need to be replaced with longer bolts that go through a load distributing plate that is then attached to the ceiling.
The second major issue is how to attach the Lyra rigging to the mount it would be nice to use the existing bearing but there’s no simple and safe way to do that and that bearing is also not designed to be loaded in tension. You would probably end up having to loop a sling over the swiveled part or the mount, which would probably end up sliding to the side of the mount and jamming it up.
It may be possible, but there are much simpler and safer methods available. -
Completely agree – and as much as it means spending more money, I would always, ALWAYS, advocate getting someone with rigging experience in to set up lyra (or silks). The tension and pressure put on that one little swivel point is excessive, and shouldn't be taken lightly – it is far to easy for the rigging to fail and you to land on your head… 🙁

thanks for the replies you guys! i was underestimating how important proper installation for the lyra is. i'll check out those links too.
