    Hi polers,

Could anyone comment if they’ve felt this way before? I recently felt a dull feeling on my elbow/forearm area and also like the arm area near my elbow especially when I put pressure on it (like pushing the door open, carrying groceries). It doesn’t hurt badly but I feel like, a dull pain. Have anyone felt this before and what do you do about it so it’d go?

    Thanks!

How long has it felt this way? Could it just be a soar muscle from poling or working out?

Hi Veena! Thanks for replying! It’s my… 3rd or 5th day, somewhere there. I don’t remember when it came about but I think the cause was too much climb and invert practice (I’m only about 2 months-3 learning pole). :/

Give a a day or two of rest and if it doesn’t improve I’d have it checked 😊

thank you so much Veena! I’m on day 3 of the 30 day take off lessons and I’m feeling it when I do the pole lift and the shoulder rotation exercises, so I guess I should stay away from pole for a day or two then huh? :/ bummer. Will continue if and when I get better.

Hey. I don’t know if this is similar to what you are feeling. I was getting a dull ache on the outside of my elbow, especially when it was extended and had pressure on it. I think mine was from doing split grip moves, but it would also hurt doing small things like resisted shoulder stretches behind me. I had also had some previous problems with forearm tendon pain and side of wrist pain, and a doctor I finally saw about the latter told me the wrist problem was a weak ligament and the solution to all of those issues was to strengthen my wrist and forearm muscles. I’m now doing regular strengthening exercises, using tools like hand squeezers, a small weight to do wrist curls, and a gyroscope, which is supposed to strengthen all those muscles up to the elbow. In my case, it’s definitely working. If your pain doesn’t feel muscular but like a dull ache in the ligaments or tendons, strengthening the muscles that hold them in place may help. Veena has some wrist and forearm strengthening videos in the conditioning section.

    hey Casi,

Thank you so much! I’ll try that too. I’m doing the resistance exercises and it ached a little bit, doesn’t hurt much but there’s a funny feeling. and split grips do give me that ache too if I don’t place my hands properly. I’ll take your advice. Thank you!!
