what do you see?
Posted by WebJunk on May 21, 2014 at 4:01 pmWas walking around between appointments at that Mayo clinic today. there are some things like the lightpole in the picture that I feel compelled to check and see if it can be used as a dancing pole. Anyone else have this affliction? That is not why I am being treated here 🙂

Yes I call it polespotanitis. Currently nothing pole like is safe 🙂 I have climbed football posts to pole on them, street signs (round and those evil square with holes) whenever we are somewhere new my hands are drawn to check their stability… I was very disheartened when my husband wouldn’t allow me to pole on the carousel animals at knotts berry farm (because those brass babies were made for inverts!).

Totally feel you Web Junk! Lol @ polespotanitis I have it too along with highceilingalism, I’m compulsively summing up where it would be awesome to put a pole.

oh boy…yup, polesotanitis is super contagious….so far been spotted spinning and doing shoulder mounts (once ya get em ya just can’t stop!!!) in public! As far as i know, poling in public isn’t against bi-law :oP

Yep: me on floor in Pilates/yoga/ballet studio ‘ooh you could fit 4 poles in here..,’
Me looking at cross fit outdoor training construction: ‘just sneak in a quick shoulder mount’.
Cross fit muscle man appears out of nowhere: ”wtf I have to try’ [fails]
Me: ‘try this’ [does flag]
Cross fit man: ‘no way got to try’ [sort of does it for 2 seconds]
Me: ‘lol give this a go’ [chopper]
Man: ‘how long you been doing cross fit then?’
Me: ‘I don’t. I just do pole’
Man: ‘huh?’I leave him trying to shoulder mount.

Also I deliberately take my 3 year old to the play park with a pole so I can practice. Even though the slides are a bit crap and he prefers much nearer play park with no pole and a bouncy castle.

The antenna is probably to flimsy, but we could very quickly replace it with a stage pole and they would never notice! Because those are probably some great views ;-D

Is there a world record for highest pole dancing? Anyone interested in setting one?
Could find a building that would allow it I am sure. -
I was at Lowes hardware store the other night while hubby was buying some plumbing supplies I started eyeing the 10 foot galvanized pipes and was trying to figure out how I could make my own mount for it in the back yard to pole outside as my SV pole inside can’t be moved outside.

I finally did it! The pole on my pre-k playground is a pole with staggered steps about half way up so I figured I would try to place my hands just above the steps and was able to do a couple different inversions and SM. Sooo much fun. Been eyeballin’ it for a few months!!!
