which grip aid for really sweaty hands?

I have EXTREMELY sweaty hands, and at one studio they used rubbing alcohol. It works for me as a drying agent for the short term. I just wipe my pole and hands with it and it seems to work ok. Just use an old towel and 70% rubbing alcohol. I also love dry hands, but it does tend to come off. Also adding grip to the pole I find helps a lot. I apply dry hands directly to the pole and I find I stick pretty well, especially when I'm pole sitting. Thighs get sweaty too. I have to try the shaving cream!

I currently don't use any grip aids but I sweat REALLY easily. I use rubbing alcohol to wipe down my pole and hands but I have to wipe my pole and hands after nearly every move and sometimes even after just holding my pole with a hand. So, I clearly need to figure something out. I also have to wipe off my shoulders before I any shoulder mount or SM prep work because my back sweats too (ew, I know).
Joel from Mighty Grip actually told me about this new organic product that is supposed to take care of excessive persperation. Their website is http://www.dirtygirlpoletice.com. It's not widely available yet, as it is so new, but it might be something to keep in mind!

I brought some of that back to the UK from Pole Expo to give to a friend with Hyperhidridosis (excessive sweating) on her hands and she'll report back with her findings soon.

I bought the mighty grip gloves, worked so well Ihad a hard time gently sliding down the pole, when Iwanted to. However they also ripped holes in them within a mth…. maybe Ishouldnt of got the task or had a majorly defective one? Help help, but the gloves where the best the a got vs the corn husk lotion types and might grip. I also heard minimize peanut butter intake.

heathalynne – I have the original formula of tite grip and it doesn't work. I talked to tite grip and they said that the original is stronger than the new version. Not only do my hands sweat, but they get greasy as well.

Mighty grip just wrote me saying they will replace the gloves. My problem accord on the full gloves on the fingers, so perhaps just get those. But they seem to have great customer service!

I use a combination of methods:
I apply tite-grip to my hands an hour or so before practice.
Right before practice – I wash my hands with vinigar. I keep a bottle of cheap synthetic vinigar in my locker at the studio, and I pour some of it on my hands, rub well and dry with a paper towerl.
After my hands dry from the vinigar, I apply tite grip again
On top I wear mighty grip gloves (the kind that has less tack, because I want to be able to spin). After that, I don't have to wipe my hands or the poll at all during the entire practice (unless my back or some other extremely sweaty area of my body touches it).

I'll try that! I'll just see what works for me. I tried the dew drop Super ( the strongest one), that didn't work at all I was a little confused by it. I was actually quite slick.

My hands are crazy sweaty and I just ended up messing up a competition performance because of it!!! Grrrr!! So I am going to look into some new grip aides, I never heard of dirtygirl poletice until Annieloo's post but I got a bottle of it in my competitor gift bag a few weeks ago. I haven't used it yet but I will use it soon and report back! I also got tite grip and I have never tried that either. I think different products work for different people because your skin chemistry is different and reacts differently to the grip aides.

hey guys this is my two cents worth from my exsperience and that of the students i had.
A few tricks i have learnt recently from a good friends is 1 buy a bar of parmolive green soap, its like ordinary bar of soap, wash the shit out of your hands with it and dry them before going on the pole, that with a touch of dry hands is the best thing ever. I did an entire performance which i was completely unfit for so i was sweating and i didnt have any problems with grip at all.
The soap technique works on the body too, i dont know what it does but its unreal the difference you have, students who have had perfuse sweating problems have tried it and it makes such a difference plus its like the cheapest thing ever and you can just get it from the grocery store.
A few other suggestions i have seen recently is, gymnastic olympians put honey on there hands and then chalk them up apparently its great and its something im definitely going to give a try as dry hands costs me a fortune.
When i do you a chalk based liqued i like to put it on my hand and then rub it up and down the pole, this seems to help too..
Recently thanks to Klause on here, he puts a pair of washing up rubber gloves on his hands and trains for 10 mins, he swears that he doesnt need grips after 10 mins when he takes them off due to the residue inside them reacting with his hands.
A few students like eco grip too ( me not so much i hate it) But honestly PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try washing your hands with that parmolive green soap bar, i cant believe the difference its made especially when tackling a 50mm pole!

Wat is dry hands like? I don’t like to add other agents on my hands, other then the gloves… wondering if it is a must for ur technique
-
you dont need dry hands at all, i just like it because its the first grip i ever really used as ITAC2 is not meant for your hands just your body, it makes your hands actually sweat more.
Its like a liquid for in a bottle you shake it up put it on rub it in and it drys like a thin chalk layer, i guess similar to the method of gym chalk but obviously different!
