Okay, fess up – who put vaseline on my pole?  Or was it baby oil, or perhaps crisco?  The pole actually 'felt' like something slippery was on it.  I was slipping and sliding all over the place!  I've never had this much problems on my pole!  The pole actually 'felt' slippery.  I tried everything to wipe it down.  After falling one too many times, I finally decided to give up for the night.  I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

My boys like to play on my pole when they have their friends over, especially after they've eaten fried chicken or some other greasy finger food.  Afterwards, they'll all deny it.  I'll try to find out if either of my boys drove to Colorado to chkicken-grease up your pole.

I would blame my hubby because his greasy fingerprints are all over the place, but I know he would NEVER touch my pole so perhaps it was your boys!  After all, that's the only logical answer!   https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Did you try alcohol to clean it yet? This usually helps. Also, you did not have any new lotion on your skin did you?

Yeah, I did try the alcohol – several times in fact.  I didn't use any lotion for almost 24 hours before.  It was really weird.  I think I'll take it down today and do a really good cleaning and hope that will help.

Hi Stevesgirl:  I am an instructor in Ontario Canada.  I have read the thread and just wanted to add my thoughts.  A pole also changes with the conditions of the room.  Humidity and cold can make a pole almost impossible to play on.  Hope this helps.   Happy Poling.

Every once in a while your pole needs a good soap and water scrubbing. I prefer Dawn dishsoap with really hot water and scrub with a soft sponge. Then…hot water rinse down  by wiping with hot soaked paper towels and then dry.

You don't even have to take the pole down and you'll have better leverage for scrubbing if you leave it up but the floor will get wet as you wash it down.

The best thing I find to clean my pole down with every so often is Acetone.  I rub it down with it every month or so or when I feel it is a little slippy(kids like to play on it so it actually does get a bit greasy if they have something on their hands, lol!).  I swear the first week after I use the acetone I don't have to even use grip.  I also love the fact that it leaves no residue and is dry pretty much instantly.
