xjoint really stuck
Posted by PolePrincessbrittiejean on March 10, 2014 at 12:54 pmHey guys. I have had my xpole a little less than a month now and I put it up or tried to put it up today for the second time and my xjoint is mad stuck and appears the hex key may be stripped? I always completely insert the hex key and i thought the first time I put it together that the xjoint was very very hard to screw and unscrew it takes all my strength. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it. Please help it took me almost a year to save up for this one I cannot afford for it to be really broken!

Hey lady- the joint shouldn’t be stripped at all especially not this soon. and it should be easy to turn couple of trouble shooters
1 – are you sure you are turning the key the right way
2- are you using the hex end or the end with the little ‘ball’ thingy
how many times have you taken it down and put it up within the month?
Is the pole down now? -
Yes I double checked the book and this is only the third time I would have put it up….I am pretty sure its stripped at this point bcuz the hex key doesn’t quite fit….it just sucks I didn’t expect any issues this soon and don’t really know what to do.

And yes I took it down but the entire pole is together minus dome and base bc the stuck xjoint is my main a to b pole joint

Lube the joints and get I strong man to unscrew it. Lube the joints and the tool to unscrew it

Are you sure it is the screw that is stripped and not the key/wrench itself?
-
Yes…unfortunately….my husband thinks he may have a solution so hoping for the best

First suggest you use a Socket Wrench and a 5mm Hex Socket. The additional force and length of the socket wrench should release the joint. Providing the screw has not rounded.Make sure you rotate it counter-clockwise to release/undo!
If this does snot work please contact the X-Pole USA office.

The bolt has rounded….my husband has an extractor socket that he says will remove it…then going from there….x poles I am so glad for your great customer service!

X-Pole USA may have new Joint screws (to replace the rounded one) but you will need a Torx/Star socket driver or Key to remove the small screws that hold the blocks in (its needs someone mechanical/technical to replace main screws). Suggest you change both screws in teh joint if you do.
Or if not X-Pole USA can supply you with a new joint.
