XPole or Platinum Poles
Hello all!
My fiancée is wanting to dive in with the online classes as she has always loved pole. She used to do it a while back but hasn’t been able to since before covid. I would love to support her passions as much as I can so I’ve cleared out a space in our spare room and was hoping to set up a pole so she can have her own area to practice. The trouble I’m having is there seems to be some conflicting reports on which pole would be best! It seems like the majority prefer XPole, though there is a significant minority who are platinum pole enthusiasts here! There also seems to be a wealth of knowledge here in the discussions going back years, so I wondered if anyone had some suggestions or experiences that might help me draw some conclusions?
She used to go to a studio so I think the 45mm might be what she’s used to, and I figure it would be ideal to have spinning too if possible so she could have options. Material wise it’s hard to judge, but chrome seemed to be a winner from what I’ve read – happy to be swayed though.

I have both xpoles and platinum stages poles and they’re now actually the same company! On the platinum stages website they no longer sell the model of removable pole you see referenced in the older posts here. They only sell the xpole as their removable option.
However, if you want a permanent pole, it looks like they still have the original options for those. I have a brass 38 mm platinum stages pole and I was wonderful, they now only sell the 45 mm pole though. The down side is I’ve moved and can no longer us the pole as my ceiling is not tall enough.
Xpole is great and I’ve have around 16 different poles over the years and find them to be the best option for anyone in the US.
You’ll also want to get her input on the pole because she needs to decide on finish and diameter as it’s not about the color but about the climate and skin type that will determine the best fit for her.

This is enormously helpful, thank you so much! Great idea about the temporary flooring too – really makes the space come alive.
I’ve actually managed to find an XPole – Xpert (Static and spinning) Gold 45mm for very surprisingly cheap. Although I’d like it to be a surprise I think you make a great point of getting her input. So rather than present a finished room that might not be quite right I’ll have her judge the size and finish to see if she wants something different before committing.

You’re very welcome! A gold pole can be titanium gold or brass, which are two very different finishes so make sure you know which one it is if you purchase that one 💜
