I live in an apartment. I want to purchase the xpole expert. My only concerns are if it’s still safe and any possible damage to the ceiling. I don’t mind a little paint removal, something that could be easily fixed. Has anyone used an xpole with popcorn ceilings? Can you share your experiences or any advice. I’m trying to get the pole asap. Thanks!

Yes, you can use an xpole with popcorn ceilings, I have. A few pieces may fall off when you set up or take down but it was not noticeable. If the popcorn texture is very big and thick you may have issues with the dome staying in place. You could always get the permanent mount for the pole.

Thanks…the popcorn is thin. It’s just numerous. I didn’t want to drill any holes in the wall…just trying to make sure I’m safe…but trying to avoid damage to the apartment. I am definitely getting a pole though.

Hi there, I have only ever had a pole set up at home on popcorn ceilings. Just recently moved, and when I took my pole down, there was a faint ring where some of the popcorn had been rubbed off, but if you didn’t know where to look, you wouldn’t even notice it.

When you go to set up, just keep in mind that stud finders won’t work properly on popcorn, so if you need to use a stud finder to locate the beams, you can hold a piece of cardboard over the spot you want to search and THEN use the stud finder on that flat surface to find your studs. Other than that, I have had no problems setting up at either place, nor have I had any instability issues.
