okay so i made a thread about this a while ago, and i bought the mount thing from xpole so i can screw it directly into the beam.

but now my issue is that where the holes are already drilled into the mount is too wide to go on my beam.

What do you think would be better – screwing just 2 of the 4 holes or finding somewhere that can drill extra holes into it for me? Only thing is I'm then not sure if I'll need to drill 4 more holes in or if I can just have 2 extra ones drilled in.

    Does this make any sense?

I would 1) find some place to drill extra holes or 2) drill some blocks into both sides of the beam to widen it enough to screw the mount in. You could also do both for extra security that it will be stable.

I don't know if drilling blocks into the beam would work. The beam's metal, and it looks like the landlord has already added wood or something to widen it. So, technically it is wide enough for the other hole on the mount to reach, but then it would half be in the wood and half in the metal, which I don't think would be safe.

The more I think about it, the more I feel I should just add another hole to the mount.

I'm so over this, I just want my damn pole up !
