Well I’m not Chemmie, but I’ll tell you all I know https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Because sugaring sort of seeps into pores (hence the reason it eventually becomes permanent), it can even be used to remove blackheads!
    You can eat it.
It rinses off with water – you don’t have to use chemicals like with waxing.
If you come across a stubborn hair (even an ingrown one) you can just keep going after it until you get it. With waxing you aren’t supposed to go over the same area more than once…
Because the sugar only sticks to dead skin cells (unlike wax which sticks to everything), its WAY less painful and does a lovely job of exfolliating!

Hmmm… nothing else is coming to mind. Let me know if you have any specifc questions.

PS – Anjils is TOTALLY right about everything.

Like really short stubble sort of?

I would suggest trying a multi-blade razor if you shave – I find the more blades the closer the shave so go for something with 4 or 5 blades. The battery power ones that vibrate with the push of a button like gillette fusion power get even closer which is surprising since I thought it would be just some lame gimic. Shaving cream is also key.

As for waxing… Wax is applied in the direction of the hair growth and then torn off against the grain if you will. This will break the hairs off resulting in ingrown hairs and faster regrowth. If I were you I would look into Sugaring. It’s been around forever and ever, but its just starting to grow in popularity. The process is reversed – the sugar is applied against the direction of the hair and pulls the hair out of the follicle the same way it grows = no breakage or ingrown hairs. Hair takes longer to grow back, can be removed at a shorter length, and will eventually result in permanent removal. The sugar is not hot so it will not burn you or cause inflammation like waxing does and there is NO double dipping so it is much more sanitary.

    Hope that helps…

Hmmm. Well I was thinking powder coated for my basement because it’s so cold down there it takes forever to warm up my pole in all the right areas and then it cools down really quickly too. Painful grip might just work if I play nice on it!

    Thanks for sharing!

Awh good tip englann and how sweet of you to even take pics!!!

Polekitty I just started poling and I can’t pole sit without using my lower foot to hook. Really I think workingfire is right – the biggest thing is warmth. Everytime I try on a cold pole I just slide down no matter how tightly I grip with my thighs AND my foot.

About two days after I got my pole I stopped to tan on my way home from work. (GASP! I know – skin cancer and wrinkles. I live with 9 months of winter a year. We all have out vices and I hardly ever go. I digress.)
Anyways I lotioned up, jumped in for a tan and thought about poling the whole time! I couldn’t wait to get home to jump on my new pole and try a sit again. I really wanted to build up my endurance so that the burn would hurry up and go away. I live in a small town about a 5 minute drive from the salon, so when I got home, I ran down to my pole, tore my pants off, jumped on the pole and promptly sat for a good 2 minutes without hands! I was warm and sticky from tanning and it was soooo easy!

Next time I tried with a cold body and cold pole, I slid right down again!!! I figure warmth is the reason I can’t get that darn crucifix yet. I don’t get time to adequately warm us up in my basement.

Good luck to ya! I know you’ll get it!

As long as your comfy with your gemini, trying it from that move is totally fine, and some find it easier…I demonstrate it from the floor/standing because your less likely to fall. Also, if you look close at the lesson I’m not crossing at the ankle….just the tops of my feet lock together, by the toes. I have always had difficulties trying to actually cross at my ankles. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Ya pretty much guaranteed to fall from gemini…

Your so right tho – its more like feet crossing! Yay thank you.

But guys for the star you can’t cross your ankles because your one leg is extended right? Granted the extended leg/foot is probably relieving a lot of the pressure, but still! Veena you make it look so simple and painless in your lesson! If only I could press my hips forward maybe I could get it… Oh and I’m trying to get it from the floor so maybe its easier to get into from gemini? I just don’t trust me knee enough to try the gemini yet. I thought I’d break it in with the star from the ground. Hmmm….

And yes thank you for the advice and the pic… I can see how crossing might be more painful and harder on the joint. Yet I can appreciate how some would feel more secure with ankles crossed. I’m gonna try both but aim for no crossing and see how it goes.

So many talented, experience Veeners to help! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Oh no its definitely not bursitis. The only time I feel the pain is when I practice my center splits (specifically part my legs and lean forward). Its as if 95% of the stretch/tension I feel is at my right pes anserine. Sharp tug right at that point! I guess I can just keep gentley practicing?? I’m just open to other suggestions. *sigh* Anyways you ladies with your splits are my heros!

I think I suffer from the same right knee pain PoleSkivvies! Even after a good warm up. I specifically feel it at my pes anserine if you have any specific suggestions for this Veena…
